Works like charm for me (and my son :D). I use eSATA to copy data on the disk.
Tested it, works flawless, except for one tiny issue though; when the power of the disk is turned off, the Wii doesn't power down (or it takes forever). So you'd have to power down the Wii first, then the power off the drive. It is possible to replace a disk whilethe Wii is on. Using it daily for 2 weeks now.

Brand: Western Digital My Passport USB 3.0
Format : WBFS

Have tested other 500GB Passports with the USB 3.0 interface. Using both WBFS only, FAT32, and WBFS with a FAT32 partition. So assume this brand using 3.0 should work with most configurations. I'll test again soon, just to confirm 100%.
@mndgme- thanks. I updated the old 3.0 note in Post #1 after doing a massive database update. Looks like most of the 3.0 and 3.0/2.0 USB HDDs are now working as long as the Wii is using more up-to-date cIOS and/or USB Loader apps.

I was a bit nervous after reading a few posts but mine works great so far.
I did run the app on the virtual CD to disable that feature. Then, I formatted the drive with WBFS and loaded 3 games on it and tested it and IT WORKED!
Drive is still working great!! Loaded about 250 ROMs on it so far!

Hello, quick question, I see Western Digital Elements WDBAAU5000EBK-EESN and WDBAAU0010HBK-NESN are listed as working. Im assuming the 4 digits after the "-" are region related, here in the UK I have found WDBAAU5000EBK-UESN and WDBAAU0010HBK-UESN 500Gb and 1TB, does anyone know if these will work?
The WD Elements work great, so you are most likely fine whatever flavor you decide to get.
