2. yes everything there is correct... i would leave the wii connect off because that enables "N" to update your cosole in the background and when the wii is in sleep mode and if this happens you will wake up one morning and see that your wii soft mods dont work.. a workaround is hooking up the chargers to the usb ports on your desktop comp (that is what i do) or you can go HERE from staples.com (hopefully your in the US) and order the part in the link and you will have 2usb ports on the surgeprotector that you can use for the chargers...
3. why do you want to switch to a 4gb... there are more programs that are used and played with for softmoding that still do not support HCSD... what are you trying to store on it... i have a 2gb and i have 1.3gb left on it and i use it for alot of wads and stuff and i have not filled it yet... also you could get 2 - 2gb cards one for modding and one for playing games w/triiforce or programs...
if u shut down youre wii with the remote it should be yellow i have mine all set up and i keep the wii connect off. i always shut mine down all the way but you shouldnt have to. and there is no way to charge through the wii when its all the way off. if you turn wii connect on theres a chance it will update on its own. as far as the sd card id keep to sandisk. idk anything about pny i always run sandisck never had a problem. and if u can go buy the energizer dock that plugs in the wall so u dont have to charge through the wii. 20 dollars at walmart batteries included.
PNY 2gb - I use this card and everything works fine... got it for $ 7 bucks $

I have NSMB running thru Neogamma 8.
You can upgrade the WII to the latest firmware if you want and still run the original NSMB game.
There is a guide in this forum how to softmod your WII when running 4.2 and have a D2PRO chip.
