The storyline kept me interested in the game. Would advise trying the first Tales of Symphonia for GC to understand it better though.
The story was shorter than the original game for Gamecube.
The controls were really easy to learn and master. Doesn't involve much of the wii's motion gimmick.
A - Attack or Interact
B - Special Technique (Arte)
C - Unison Attack
Z - Block or Use Sorcerer's Ring
Joy Stick - Move
Depending on how much you leveled up, the game could have been challenging or easy. For example. The first time I played the game, I was around Level 50 - 53 by the time I reached the final boss, this made it somewhat challenging but pulled through in the end. The second time I played the game, I was somewhere around Level 58 - 62 by the time I reached the final boss, it wasn't difficult to win. But being a high level isn't just enough, strategy can help, Instead of just charging straight up to an enemy an using an arte (technique) isn't going to help. Instead, the enemy will probably block it, its going to make you lose Tech Points (TP) and probably going to get yourself damaged.
The music really got me into the mood of the game. Made it feel more realistic. Especially the battle music.
A good bonus after you beat the game is the fact that you can spend your earnt grade to keep your artes, skills etc or even give your self an advantage or disadvantage when starting a new game.
A somewhat decent RPG. Worth a try if you're interested in JRPGs.
