thanks for your help mauifrog, the problem was the dvd writeer, now i finllay coulld install hbc now i triyng to follow the softmod guide, but when i tried to backup the nand with the bootmii, i press power to move to the right and the wii power off :S thats weird.
well finllay i could enter the system menu, im on 4.3U i tried to play games via disc channel and neogamma, and i couldnt it gives me error(00000000) , so i donwgrade to 4.1U and now i could play SSBB and Cars 2 but i couldnt run mario kart neither house of the dead overkill, any solution for this? and another thing, i couldnt access to MII channel
4.1u shall be able to play Mario Kart ! Rip the game once again, if no play.
I added a wode to my Wii which is blocked with error 003 (4.3U).
I have almost the same problem. It starts Mario Kart well but when I switch, it stays on a kind of dark blue screen and nothing happens.

(I make the reset after 1s as I'm using the wode I can't use the sound of the DVD driver)
Do you have any idea??
stuck at the first step
I am trying to run the recovery procedure, but I cannot get into recovery mode:
mine is a korean wii from 2008, got it in china hacked to english.
made the mistake of updating using nintendo official update, and got error 003
now I connected the game cube controller and trying to turnon pressing the 4 d buttons, but it always load the error 003 page.
what else could I check?
i tried with both the SD card inside and not.
I am trying to access recovery mode WITHOUT a CD in the drive. I tried also with Zelda Pal.
I am not sure whether I have modchip installed or not
does these make any different?
I need to get into recovery mode before I can do anything else.
did you dissemble the gc controller and remove the pin beneath the d-pad?
my friend who I am borrowing the controller from just made a funny face when he read that! :)
I was reading from different forums that no hacking was needed on the controller? is it 100% necessary?
It depends on the controller, sometimes it is not needed and sometimes it is. The controller still works, and you can put the pin back when your done.
mhh, i'll have to go standby then until I find another controller to hack. My friend's controller is genuine and require those 3-star screwdrivers we don't have now...
