If you want to see this in action, rename ONLY the ticket\00000001\ folder in the ticket directory to something like \ticket\00000001xx.
Now play a C64 game and use ''Home+Reset'' and the game re-starts.
Pick ''Home+Return to Menu'' and the Wii reboots.
It seems to do this because it can't find the system menu ticket, so by some sort of default/watchdog, it cold-boots.
(Note that this cold-boot is not the same as it does when it can find the ticket and returns to ther Menu without restarting the entire Wii.
You can note this because it doesn't scan the DVD drive normally on a return to menu command.)
The ticket\00000001\ folder contains the tickets for the system titles, so the answer to the lock-up issue seems to be a need for a "Clean Booting" app file/ticket combo that will reset the wii back to the real NAND, preferably back to the System Menu without a coldstart.
(Basically an app that switches back to the real NAND and runs Devkitpro's ''SYS_RETURNTOMENU'' should do it).
Sounds simple enough, but I doubt it's going to be that easy.
Just my thoughts on this...sorry if this is OT.
I'll give this a try. I noticed that my ticket and title folders have a lot more directories in them compared to the original dump i was using which only had 00010001.

Actually I meant VC games that I purchased from Wii that are currently on my Wii's NAND. Obviously I didn't get that part across well, I'm not that much of a noob/tard!
I'm very new at this though and have a ton of questions. I've got my Triiforce all set up now, short of a few game images. Why is it that Triiforce can't just read the VC art image that is part of every .wad file? In Showmiiwads, I can preview the Channel Art for all of my wads, but Triiforce-mrc makes no attempt to use them.
Also with Triiforce, has anyone else had issues with exiting a game? I ususally use Home(btn) -> Reset, but that sometimes results in a code dump, and other times will only reset the game. Most times it resets the Wii like it should. However, when I select Wii Menu to exit, my Wii shuts off but the light stays green, and I have to manually shut it down.
Obviously it's still in beta, and it might sound like I'm not happy with it but I totally am. I've been itching for a long time to be able to play these older games with a real controller again! Is there an official site?

That said, in answer to your last question, I would venture to say that Sega games are not native to Nintendo and probably use a different loader or some form of internal emulator to run, so they most likely boot different than the rest.
They may use one of the two Shared folders to get going.

I got TriiForce MRC working on a USB hard drive by reading and following the guide. Just put the files on a USB hard drive instead of a SD card.
Get all files that is generated to the nand folder from step 1 in this guide to the root of the USB hard drive. It should look something like this:

To make TriiForce MRC load games from a USB hard drive you need to have a FAT32 partition set as ACTIVE. You can only have one partition set as active, so the other partitions on the hard drive will be inactive. Some USB loaders might have a problem with this, but the one I use (USB Loader GX) works with an inactive WBFS partition. This means you can play both Wii backup games with USB Loader GX from the unactive WBFS partition, and play WiiWare and Virtual Console games with TriiForce MRC from the active FAT32 partition.
To get game pictures to load from a USB hard drive I had to use the customized TriiForce MRC console version. You can download this version here: MULTI_CONSOLE_NO_AUTO_v7.rar. The other TriiForce MRC versions didn't load pictures from the USB hard drive.
Do you know any forwarder that works with TriiForce MRC on USB?
