I only used wad2nand for all the wads that I have tested thus far, although I am intrigued now to see if using ShowMiiWads can alleviate some of the issues faced with the forwarder and 60Hz only channels.
Ok showmiiwad 1.2 alleviated all my problems now. I would advise everyone to go to page 6 of this thread and follow those instructions instead and use showmiiwads 1.2 instead of the wad2nand method which only seems to transfer the ticket and title data but not the shared folder 1 and 2 content (Which is the reason why my games wouldn't identify and boot within triforce).
I backed up my nand through bootmii and followed the instructions in step 6 which papermariozero, wiipower and slimmmm recommended people do in another forum. Oh this app is beautiful (for now lol).
Also to create images for your games, load up showmiiwads 1.2 and preview your vc or wiiware titles and then select a pic from the icon or banner tab in the pulldown menu, click on pic, select save and rename the file with the four letter title id in all caps and save it as a png file into your sd card (root) folder with triforce_mrc.
Update: I have tried several wads now including "World Of Goo". Only wad that has given me any trouble is "Space Invaders Get Even G.E." (Black Screen). Everything else has worked flawlessly including VC games.
Woot! Glad to hear Wiiman10! You seem to be the first person who has actually had a different result from using the showmiiwads method compared to the wad2nand method. On that note, I will probably change the method in the user guide from the wad2nand method to the showmiiwads method. They honestly take about the same length of time to do, not to mention some people have trouble dumping their nand using simpleFSDumper compared to BootMii.
The only real step after this is to figure out what else from the BootMii nand can be tossed out to shrink the nand. Slimmm talked about having a 35MB nand that worked with almost everything, but he said it still needs testing.
PS: getting the images for games is in this user guide. It's step 6! ;)
Ah! I wish I got that lucky. I used the nand I dumped when I first soft modded my wii and I still had some junk, not much, but my full bootmii nand dump was around 350 MB's. I'm still testing wads as I write this... This triforce app is pure genius and nice!
Also when you do decide to add more wads later just copy everything from the ticket and title folder to the 00010001 folder on the sd card like usual and also pay attention to the sys folder.
Sometimes when you extract certain games to your full nand, it updates the uid.sys file in your sys folder, you'll have to drag that onto the sys folder on your sd card as well.
I keep my backed up nand with all the folders on my pc, extract additional games to it, then i just copy and paste the new ticket files, title files (to 00010001 folders) and sys folders to the SD card with the same folders.
That is one thing I have wondered but I have no way to verify. I also used a nand that I dumped before I installed much on my Wii. I wonder if having a dumped nand that is from a Wii that was loaded up with all kinds of programs can cause issues with triiforce. The problem is if that is the case, what programs cause issues?
I think that was mentioned in the other forums as well and there isn't any concise answers involving nands being dumped with some junk data. Hopefully the Triforce creators will look into this issue extensively.
Just wanted to let you guys know that I still use wad2nand, works fine with me. As I'm sure you'll agree Sinyk. So both methods seem just as reliable but possibly it's up to each individual Wii as to which method works best it seems? Either way, Triiforce is a wonderful thing : )
i never had them installed on original nand. I just used just moved to tickets and title folder.
mmoore5553, did you have these three mario games installed to your wii before dumping your nand, or did you install them by using wad2nand and then copying the ticket and title folders to the ticket and title folders in the root of your sd card?
well, it sounds like you had the same exact problem i had, so ill try the showmiiwads method as well and see how that works.
