Hi, Just a quick question to the people in the know, Rather than using an external hard drive, is there any way tou use an external dvd drive to load games. I am thinking of the new Wii's with the DVD Drives that won't read Backup discs.
youd better buy an external HDD... what you said wont work
Kin el !!! you're Quick :)
Would it ever work or has it been tried and proved?
At last :)
First off can I thank everyone that has tried to help me out,
I finally managed to get It working, this drive had been reported to be working
so I was thinking have I got a duff one.
I must have gone through the guide over and over again about 15 - 20 times, as you can see from my earlier step by step post, and some peoples comments It should be working.
I did the process one last time before I was ready to give up all together, I went into the Wii and reinstalled a few of the wads, doing a network Install, I then opened up neogamma and selected mount WBFS and the game I had loaded onto the drive showed up !!!!.
Just need to figure out how to get the covers on now, tried to down load them and they arn`t showing up.
Thanks one again
revision 815 wad will mount USB Loader GX as a channel. The forwarder wad establishes a channel, but does not itself open USB Loader GX. A forwarder points to the USB Loader GX folder in the Apps folder in the Root Directory of your SD card. If you installed the forwarder, but do not have the SD card in the slot or do not have USB Loader GX folder with a boot.dol file, there is nothing for the forwarder to do.

Congratulations on getting your USB HDD to finally work for you. Sounds a little like wrestling with window screens-you wrestle and wrestle-even actually dropping one 1 story down into the backyard; and then somehow, the screen just slips into position-how? I don't know. Enjoy your Wii.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure it'll be worth the effort to "back up" a game from a DVD. It took over 30min for me to "install" Super Mario Galaxy onto USB-HD.
Usually per game it took about 2minutes closed to 3.

I have an external hdd: Western Digital 1.5TB Caviar Green Power and an Antec MX-100 Enclosure. Has a 10GB Fat partition, and remaining size is in WBFS (Primary)
Have 2 games downloaded now NSMB (NTSC-U ver) and Bleach (PAL) both games gives the black screen and reboots. Initially thought it was missing IOSes, but I have downloaded some other wiiware games that uses the same IOS and those run perfectly fine.
Used USBLoader GX r830 (initially tried r815) but both gave me the black screen/reboot. Neogamma 8 r7 after you mount the drive, it sees the games, but when you try and run the game it says something like Error Launch dvd (n).
Any suggestions on which one game is easy to play? I'll report back in a day after I try your suggested game.
Hi gen3, I extract the rar it has 2 folder one for pc and the other for SD.

Those 5 folders at the top it block only one Wad that I can installed as I decribe at the previous posted.
How is that happen can not go through installed.
