Just as billyhome said. 1:1 ISOs are the best. Don't bother brickblocking or using regionfrii. They can sometimes work but at other times don't. While on the other hand, your backup loader such as NeoGamma can do what they both do without messing around with the iso.
i hear you on the untouched ISO i really do, but maybe im thinking back to my playstation days, when we used patchers to remove "im a copy" patches and changing video modes, then burning the "patched" ISO as although the ISO has changed, unless you live in america what good is a NTSC ISO, - and unless you live in europe what good is a PAL ISO??? :)
I understand your point. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Using the Force Region and VIVTV Patch in NeoGamma can give you region free gaming. I.e if you have a PAL ISO on a NTSC Console, using the force ntsc setting and maybe the VIVTV can get them to play. Though I usually stick to getting .iso within my region (NTSC-U) if you have no other choice but to get an out of region game, those setting come in handy. Also when using RegionFrii and BrickBlocker, there is the possiblity of a corrupted .iso
So does this just shrink the size of the image?
Yes but you must zip the .iso after scrubbing it.
Unzipped 1:1 .iso of Conduit = 4.37 GB
Zipped 1:1 .iso = 4.XX GB
Unzipped Scrubbed = 4.37 GB
Zipped = about 3 GB
Hi Nice tutorial , i have 1 question that i cant get an answer to , i am trying to replace the main.dol file but i keep getting unable to find free space for the file, i have over 10 gig of space , do i have to extract the iso and then replace ?
1) load the ISO into wii scrubber
2) click the + button on Partition 1
3) scroll down to main.dol
4) right click main.dol
5) click replace and replace it with your new .dol
6) click scrub
7) burn image to new DVD
job done :)
I'm new so maybe i shouldn't be talking yet. I'm gonna give it a try though. You mentiond having to force the region each time you load the game and wanting to automate that. Neogamma saves your settings so you can just set your region there and save. Next time you load up a game it will automatically set the game for your region.
If i'm missing something let me know. I'm still learning. Love this place already.
