I understand the FAT32 format to store iso images is quite new. Do we have a tool to convert old wbfs to fat32?
Secondly, I format my hdd to 2 partitions: I followed the softmod guide and set the wbfs primary and active; the fat32 is ok at its present state. They seem to work alright. Do u suggest to convert my present hdd to your new suggestion? Is there any potential problem of my current setting.
I am running Vista 64 and when i run easeus and run through the tutorial how does one get past the,
"Windows only recognize the first primary partition on a removable device. If no primary partitions, only the first logical partition is recognized."
Just trying this out on a 4gig usb jumpdrive Sandisk. I was using this for emulator stuff for the wii but saw this and wanted to try it. Can jumpdrives be used?
No easeus does not work with flash drives. Also it's pointless to partition a 4GB flash drive. Use full FAT32 or use the Flash drive/Sd card combo.
I am totally confused after reading this guide. I have partitioned my hard drive into 1- wbfs(primary) for the games and 2-fat32(primary and active) for the homebrew apps. My homebrew loads but the configurable usb loader jambs when loading and says 250(frag). I've reinstalled cios250 but it still doesnt work. Is the problem with my partitions causing it not to read the wbfs partition? If I use my flash to booth the games on the harddrive it works but I only want to use the harddrive.
I believe that your "wbfs" partition needs the "Primary and Active" setting applied to it.

This quote is from the initial sticky post #1. I'm in the process of going through this myself. I think the "FAT32" partition can be however it is initially setup. Post back if it works.
I'm with "tmeer" - If we do use "WBFS" does it need to be set to "Primary and Active" as the initial sticky indicates? Was the need for "WBFS" only for the USB Loaders, which is now not the case? Thanks

Hy, I have the following problem. I have a 1.5 TB usb drive format in 3 parts, one for the pc in nfts, another for wii games, and the rest in fat 32 for use instead of the sd card, set as primary and active. But lately I am having trouble installing wads. Homebrew channel load perfect, so does wad manager, but when I try to mount the usb drive I get the error ret =-1. And cant get through this error. It use to work fine, and I even install wads this way in the past, but now its not working, any help in this issue.
Thanks in advance for your help
So is there no way to have the fat32 partition instead of the sd card and still be able to play backups from my hdd? I was reading and saw someone say that to use fat32 instead of an sd card it had to be set as active but to play backups from the hdd the wbsf has to be set to active. any thoughts on this?
You could make your whole hdd FAT32
