I need help loading the USB Loader.
I have completed the tutorial, formatted the hard drive and added ISO backups to it, through the WBFS Manager. Now I'm trying to load the USB Loader.
The instructions are to load the contents inside the inSDRoot to the root of the SD. However, one of the the two folders inside is named "apps", which conflicts with the other apps folder I have in the SD root. Sould I change the name of one of them? I know the question may seem stupid, and it probably is.
Another question concerns instructions on downloading a Forwarder...not sure how to proceed.
Here are the instructions. The page where the forwarder is supposed to be, no longer exists.
Copy the contents of "inSDroot" to the root of your SD card.
This will add the USB Loader to your homebew channel.
You can also install a a channel forwarder to start the loader directly
from the system menu.
(Note: alternatively, a USB FAT partition can be used
to store configuration and covers)
The forwarder can be downloaded from here:
And installed with the WAD Manager.
Game cover images can be downloaded from here:
NTSC Image Pack - Wii Covers - GBAtemp.net
Updated titles.txt can found here:
config file: sd:/usb-loader/config.txt
titles file: sd:/usb-loader/titles.txt
ocarina cheat codes are searched in:
ocarina TXT cheat codes use the locations:
Downloaded to: sd:/usb-loader/codes/*.txt
Saved .gct to: sd:/usb-loader/codes/*.gct
play history: sd:/usb-loader/playstats.txt
.wip files: sd:/usb-loader/GAMEID.wip
.bca files: sd:/usb-loader/GAMEID.bca
Games on FAT: usb:/wbfs/GAMEID.wbfs
(or sd:/ instead of usb:/)
These are default locations, background and covers are configurable.
If config file is not found in sd:/usb-loader, then it is searched
in: sd:/apps/USBLoader/config.txt (or whichever directory is used to
start from homebrew channel) and if found, the base path is set to
greetings to everyone
hello to everyone here. im new but i dont plan on being a stanger :-)
So i did everything step by step in your softmod tutorial. After i finished i burned two separate games. COD Modern Warfare and Rainbow Six. When i load the COD in the Neo it reads the information, then goes to a screen and says cant read disc refer to wii owners manual.
When i put in the Rainbox Six disc, it started reading it, went to a green screen and then restarted the Wii system menu. What am i doing wrong here?
Thank you for any help!

In fact, you must copy the contents of the apps directory located on your hard drive in the apps directory of the SD card.
You must copy the other directory to the root of the SD card.
The channel forwarder is for the loader as a channel on the Wii. I have not yet installed. This is a .wad file.
I go through the Homebrew Channel and then I run the loader (usually 3rd application in the Homebrew Channel).
I followed this guide and can play backups from usb drive. I was trying New super mario bros last night but gave me 002 error and i would have to reboot the wii. I have 002 fix as "yes" in latest gx loader. What am i missing?
Any chance of playing PAL games (ISO) through the USB Loader?
Are there risks involved?
I've read about serious problems when using PAL DVDS. Do the same dangers exist using PAL?
SpartanJer, you are the man. Your post fixed my problem right away. I threw those files on my card and boom, it worked like a charm. Thank you again!
well, for anyone following along... I finally got this one working!!! The problem was that I was loading everything from a USB thumb drive on the back of the console. This has been working for me and it's how I generally launch any apps, etc. from the homebrew channel since I don't have any SD cards.
I tried copying everything to a micro SD card + adapter and it turns out that the error/hang described below just disappears when you load from SD card. There must be something in the code that checks for source from SD, even though I'm loading the files from NUS.

While i am performing second step i am getting the error
a) Load and Homebrew Channel and run DOP-IOS MOD, on the IOS Selection Screen, press down on the d-pad then A on the wiimote. You should now be in the trucha bug restorer portion of DOP-IOS MOD. Load IOS36 and select Downgrade IOS15. Each time it asks, select 'Download From NUS'
Make sure you get no errors. If Loading IOS36 doesn't work for this step, press B for no IOS reload when asked to load IOS.
I was able to finish it.
b) Run DOP-IOS MOD again, on the IOS Selection Screen, press down on the d-pad and press A. Load IOS15 and choose IOS36 Menu. Make sure to install the patched IOS36 with all these patches selected:
Install IOS to slot (36)
Hash Check (trucha) Yes
NAND Permissions Yes
Then Press A on Install Patched IOS36. Again, everytime it asks, choose 'Download from NUS'
By performing the above step i am getting the error like network initilization failed.I am unable to figure it out but for sure i know my internet is working fine 100%.
Can some one help me do i need to anything else?
Can you launch the internet channel? Or the homebrew browser? e.g. does the internet work in other instances from your wii?
