Dude, I have no idea. I know that its not hurt my Wii and we are playing a game at the mo, so alls gud.
Maybe some one can tell us ?
I can tell you all the update does is fix a problem with Wiiware directly after playing Wii Sports resort.
I can tell you if it was just an unnamed hotfix 99% of the people would never worry about downloading it. But because it's 4.1 everyone absolutely MUST have it. Because the higher the number the more complete your life is.
i have my system at 3.2u, it is softmodded & hardmodded. it plays and does everything i want it to, and has never givin me an issue. therefore i will never attempt any updates whatsoever as long as no problems exist. best of luck.
Well I decided to upgrade after reading a report that if I play an original new release the disc will prompt for an update and wont play if I donít have it. So the idea was to jump from 3.4e to 4.1e and benefit from the progression.
However, it failed - I donít know enough to figure out why but my system reports 295 blocks free.
Sure its not broke, but 3.4 to 4.1 is a big enough jump to make me inquisitive.
I'm not sure if any of it actually installed, all looked good for several mins (about 30) text was scrolling cios this cios that, wii shop etc. Then bombed out on the 'system 4.1' part. Not sure if it failed to download or install.
I did search for the error 1036 but found nothing. I assume that as I have bootmii and a copy of my nand on SD that no matter what I do I can recover the system ?
I have a few simple questions I'd appreciate if it were answered.
* I have a patched IOS 60 installed on my wii that allows installed wad's to be run/copied from the SD card. Will this update break this feature?
I want to have this fix since I'm getting Wii Sports Resort and I could see this as being very annoying being forced to watch the video every time.
*I would also like to know the specifics of this bug and how you can avoid it. Does this only happen if you go to the HOME menu WHILE playing Wii Sports Resort, then play a wiiware/VC title?
Or, could this be avoided if you shut off your wii after playing resort, THEN play whatever wiiware/VC you want on the next boot?
If that's the case I wouldn't even worry about updating.
OR would you need to turn off your system after playing a VC/Wiiware title before playing Wii Sports Resort again?
OR does it not really matter, any time you play a wiiware/VC EVER after playing Wii Sports Resort at least once will cause it to think you haven't seen the warning video?
I haven't read anywhere that specifically clarifies this. It would be nice if there was a simple preloader hack that fixed the bug, seeing as the fix is some sort of modification to the system menu since IOS60 is the only thing affected. But then again perhaps its not that simple because I only have a general idea of how these things work.
Why after this 4.1 update some game disc want to update?? Like SSBBrawl and thats a March '08 release. Even the backup disc from my import games that I Regionfriid to play in the disc channel want to update, but I'm skeptical of those updates cause of their original regions. So I've been playing back on 4.0 again from a nand backup I made prior until a new ‘hacks.ini' for the pre-loader is made for 4.1 or I can use the GeckoOs/Backup loader on 4.1 if I really have to have that update.
I have found out that a work around was to install my entire collection of wii discs to the hard drive. WBFS manager removes the update and makes the game smaller (removes fillers I think) and runs fine with uLoader 2.1 under cIOS222.
I would like to see this update tho.
