I did your tutorial and it seemed to work fine i can run wads on my 4.1, but i can't run the SSBB trucha signed game, did i do something wrong? I can run it with Gecko OS, but if i put it in before it comes up with the error for being trucha signed. Should i patch IOS37 also or do i just have to do IOS36?
I try the bannerbomb guide at bannerbomb and when i boot it up the screen just goes black and nothing happens then I have to restart my wii. This has happed with alot of loaders i tried and every time i tried to install IOS35.wad it says it installs but then i cant use this version to cIOS.
what the heck I did:
1. put that HBC installer on SD card (which is really a kingston SD adapter with a toshiba micro SD)
2. put that SD card in the wii.
3. go to data managment->channels-> sd
4.load boot.dol/elf pops up
5. I select yes
6. Blackscreen comes up and then nothing happens.
I have a lu64 4.0u wii no pre-installed wads.
i hate to sound like a leeching noob and a kiss ass at the same time, but dude that was an awesome tutorial, i had 3.8 to start off with and i was using one of the nooby youtube tutorials. well things didnt go so well and i somehow ended up with 4.1. and now thanks to you i have backu loader and home brew
The same exact thing happens on my LU65.

I can still run games if I use Gecko OS, but I would like to be able to access the system menu. Any idea how I can restore it? Or am I screwed?
Just for information my system is an LU64 with 4.00 installed.
Also, I put the hacks.ini file in the root of my sd card, however, it says it can't find it.
I used WAD Manager to delete Neogamma, and tried uninstalling the patched IOS60. It still said data corrupted.
Does anyone know if installing System Menu 4.0 WAD will clear all this up?
UPDATE: After fiddling around with it, I eventually just installed System Menu 4.0. It froze after installation, I hit the power, turned it back on, and it booted to the standard OS working fine. I'm still skeptical whether or not it get out completely unscathed or not, but for now, it's working. Hope this info helps someone else.
I followed dogeggs post and everything works great but trucha signed games dont load in the disk channel. Is there anything else I need to do?
