I have followed this guide and had no problems. Games like Mario kart Wii, super mario galaxy 2, Rayman raving rabbits,... Even CoD MW Reflex played without problems. But now I'm trying these new games: latest guitar hero, nfs hot pursuit,... and they all seem to crash, I can't get them to work. Is there some sort of new protection?
I have Verbatim -r discs. I try to burn them on 1x, but Imgburn auto changes speed to 3.? x, don't know if that was always like that. You guys know what to do about it?
Also I enabled region free settings, but USA games still show up in black/white...
Thanx in advance,
I'm having the some problems with my back up games. None of my new games work and these include:- Tom Clancys Ghost Recon - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Remington Great American Bird Hunt - The Sims 3 - Minute to Win - Wii Fit Plus to mention but a few. Call of Duty Black Ops works a treat. I'm loading via Neogamma r8 and using cIOS249-v20.wad and on version 4.1E. The error refers to THE DISC COULD NOT BE READ. REFER TO THE WII OPERATIONS MANUAL FOR DETAILS. Any help to sort this problem will be very much appreciated.
Stomp_442 - Thanks for the links - much appreciated as the other links still weren't working, clearing the cache simply got me back to the wait x mins message, after which the same error appeared again.

I understand this is because i have previously had the wii soft modded, the problem is I have no idea what soft mod he used in order to update it. What can I do. Is there a was to revert the wii back to start and then use this threads info to re mod the wii. Or can I find out what soft mod was used on the wii from the wii itself so that I can then just simply update it to play the newer games such as donkeyt kong country and COD Black Ops.
ok so I did a little spring cleaning on the Wii and I just wanted to make sure that I did everything correctly.
I had softmoded my Wii with this guide about 2 years ago. I came on and saw that there were some new versions of the IOS so I decided to update all these and since the guide said not to worry they would just override each other. I basiclly got my original SD card from when I did it and the new package and swapped it out.
I just opened HBC and open WAD manager and installed all the new wads provided. then i upgraded HBC to 1.08 since I had 1.03. installed the new shop channel and that ran great. also upgraded from Neogamma 7 to 8.
do you guys see anything I might have missed? Back in the days I installed preloader now I see that this package instals priiloader. is there a difference between preloader and priiloader? are they the same?
thanks for the help guys,
Well I don't know what you installed so couldn't tell you if you missed anything.
Yes priiloader is different. Follow WiiJohns Priiloader guide to remove preloader and install priiloader.
thanks for the heads up, is there an advantage in using Priiloader over preloader? just curious. I remember when I did this a way back preloader was the way to go. I remembered also applying those hacks to block updates online/disk.

Im the type of if it aint broke dont fix it but Im also the type that wants to have the most recent and smoothest way of running this softmod.
again thanks for the heads up and the link. will read up on it..
Priiloader is much better. Take a look at the changelog for a list of features added throughout Priiloader's versions.
