I have read through the first 48 pages of this thread but no posts mention the installation of USB loader GX..
I did a forum search but most information is all over the place.. is there a link/guide i can follow?
Check the usb link in my sig
here. A .dol version needs to be named boot.dol and put in a folder in your /apps and is launched via HBC; a .wad file is a channel install - you'd put it in your /wads and use Wad Manger/IOS249/SD card as source and navigate to the /wad folder and install.
If you're asking with regard to using USB Loader GX in conjunction with a HD, see this thread. USB HD compatibility lists/threads can be found on gbatemp here or a better and more up to date one on wiihacks here.
Edit: sorry Junk, you beat me to it (but left in here should it be a "howdya install" question).
thanks junkmailturds (lol) and nightstah for the super fast replies
I just recently bought a wii so i'm still new to installing .wad/.dol applications (in fact I am almost clueless but the guide has been very useful) and HBC is still very alien to me (I have a ps3 - no hacks), so I'm making sure to tread carefully.
will have a look at both links.. thanks fellas
here and then try this tutorial from the beginning.
I have successfully softmodded several 4.0U-4.1U Wii's but I have never done any below 4.0, I also have never setup Bootmii, until today that is. Although I didn't install Priiloader, this TUT worked out perfectly. Well done and easy to follow. This was the first time I had used a system updater and Trucha Bug was new to me as well. This TUT made it a breeze and I must admit that this was the first time I had been convinced to try out Bootmii which ended up not only being more simple than I would have thought but also made me feel more comfortable than ever with my NAND backed up :) Hats off to you, sir.
One quick question, I see that there are some really usefull hacks with Priiloader but aside from those benefits is it any more likely to help with a Brick than Bootmii set up for Boot2? This question may have been answered somewhere in this thread and if so I apologize.
