A few questions about the wasabi dx.
I ordered the wasabi dx a couple of days ago, I've been researching on how to hard mod the wii for a week or so now, and have made sure to answer every question that I could think of before I actually open my wii.
Here's another question. When installing the mod chip, people say it's a good idea to test the chip before putting the console back together. So, should the first disk that I put into the wii after I mod it be the 1.2 update iso? I was thinking what if the mod chip doesn't work for a game that I put in after modding it just because it's not updated to 1.2? Then I wouldn't know if the chip wasn't installed right, or if the chip is just defective or not.
If it takes the 1.2 iso and updates fully, does that mean that the chip is fully working? How long does the update take? I guess after it's done I can pop in a couple of backups before I close up the system, but I doubt it's a very good idea to leave the wii open for long.
Did you guys update after you closed your consoles? Did most backups work before you updated? From reading around here, it seems to be different for everyone.
I plan to use verbatim -r, so that shouldn't be a problem.
One more thing, I bought from modchip.ca, I read a bunch about them before I ordered, and it was mostly good reviews, but I didn't see anything about them on these forums. Have you guys ordered from them before, are they trustworthy? I hope so >.<
