I agree with you, Nintendo is taking the easy way out by re-releasing some of their GC library. Though it would be just awesome if they re-released Luigi's Mansion. Maybe a few games would be cool to be seen as re-release titles, such as Donkey Konga-
What am I saying, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat didn't really pass with me. The controls were god awful...
... Oh yeah, right. The re-releases.
This sounds oddly familiar...
Atari pulled this stunt with their 5200 console, re releasing 2600 games at a HIGHER price than buying the games for the 2600 themselves. And that just bombed.
Then again, it's Atari I'm talking about, they're the ones releasing crap like Driver: Parallel lines on the Wii.
I would rather play all the GC games, then buying these new games.
I for one welcome am happy about new play control games. Hopefully these catch on and some of the better games see re-release.
As it stands now North America has the Mario Tenis (i never played the GC one) and Pikmin (Great game looking forward to trying the new controls).
But Japan is get quite a few more and i would venture a guess that they are crossing over. I mean how much R & D could there be in some of these? Everyone knows how much Nintendo likes money.
Japans List thus far:
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat (never played)
Mario Power Tennis (never played)
Pikmin (Own, Love)
Pikmin 2 (Own, Love)
Chibi-robo! (Love, Want)
Metroid Prime (Own, Love)
Metroid Echos(Own, Love)
That is a great list! If they keep up that Quality i don't see how anyone can complain. Also keep in mind some games are getting extra content.
I for one will be buying the Metroid titles, i mean the originals were awesome but the corruption controls were like coming home, there was virtually no learning curve and all felt as it always should have been.
As for the others i will give them a rent and consider purchase.
One thing i do hope is that these games still offer use of the wavebird for those that want the classic feel, if they did i may consider selling my older games to the purists.
The game i would most love to see on the roster Eternal Darkness, if only because it was missed by so many.
Edit: A review i read states no classic or Game Cube control...at least in tennis. Its a shame Nintendo seems to not be making these game as accessible as possible.
i think the wii should focus on releasing some defining and ground breaking titles for the wii instead of constantly trying to convert older system games
i think its good because most of the current wii owners were never in to video games. and now they are being introduced to some of the good games they've missed in the past. and playing tennis with a controller vs wiimote is a good difference even if nothing else in the game changes
since the game so poorly and most importantly since the developer went to microsoft its unlikely this game will be released on wii, although i really hoped it would.Quote:

I never owned a GCN but i quite enjoy the Mario Power Tennis. It could of had nintendo Wifi to play people from around the world but thats what i think.
mario kart is still my fav game right now and will always have a place in my heart. maybe they will re-re-re-release that with "new play control" lol
i reckon its brilliant. bringing back all those classics like pikmin and pikmin 2 :D:D:D
