Mymenuify brick help
Hey guys, i've been far from the Wii modding for a while.
So i installed a theme a long time ago on my wii, didn't know how dangerous they were. Either way, my system menu won't load and now after reading about it on here i think it's safe to attribute it to that. I have Priiloader, and Bootmii as boot2 (i have keys and nand files but not a bootmii folder, sidenote but if anyone can provide me their folder all be forever grateful) I can get into HBC. I want to try removing this theme before i restore my nand.
So, how do I go about that, I see that I need an app file of my system menu. The problem is i don't have one, don't know where to get it either. I don't know what verison my System menu was, but i did follow Mauifrog's guide so i think it's on 4.2u.
To get down to it, how do i restore my system menu with this .app file?
If anyone can upload their bootmii folder and let me know how to boot into bootmii that would be very helpful.
If you still have the NAND keys and the boot2 system, you can restore that backup yourself.
You can start out with Softmod Any Wii guide. In chapter 1, part 1, under "Other desperate options", you have an option for "Boot2 Bootmii option". Grab that .zip file, extract it to the SD card, and do that process to launch hackmii installer and go through that installation.
Do part 2 to launch the hackmii installer, install HBC, reinstall bootmii as boot2 (just to be safe that it's there), then do the "prepare the SD card" option. This will copy the bootmii files to the SD card.
Before you do part 3, place the NAND backup files to the root of the SD card, then follow part 3 to launch bootmii, but instead of making the backup, choose to restore the backup that you already have.
Once that step is done, It probably won't hurt to finish the mod via chapter 2 to get your mod up to date, then when done, go through the bootmii process again and get another clean backup.
I'll try this, but i still had the theme on the backup i believe. Do you know how to remove the theme?

DISCLAIMER: TRY ANYTHING ELSE SUGGESTED ON THIS SITE, WHAT I DID IS VERY DANGEROUS

So, today my brother couldn't get the wii to connect to the TV. We tried everything but still got the "No signal", not even Priiloader would work. I moved it to another TV and eventually got Priiloader to work. I got into HBC, but the Wiimotes weren't connecting, so installing bootmii and preparing the Sd card was not going to happen. Using a gamecube controller i launched a game, and was able to sync the Wiimote while in the game. However, i couldn't get back to HBC to continue Mauifrog's guide.
So I tried looking for a system menu wad to install, which is very dangerous but i had no other true options. Using the Wiimod app found in Mauifrog's guide, I was saw the option to install a system menu. I selected it and chose the menu 4.1 NTSC, but i left everything else the same. I clicked install, it took some time but it worked. If your Wii doesn't have internet you can download it through the NUS Downloader.
I rebooted the Wii and had to go through the normal settings. It shut off the first time, i did it again, then it gave me an error that the system files were corrupted. I rebooted it again and got through the setup. My Wii was not themed and i still had everything EDIT: I checked and Priiloader wasn't installed. I reinstalled that. I'm not sure if bootmii was installed but i did reinstall it.. My Wii and GC games loaded from the USB and SD card.
Never installing themes again.
The simplest solution would have been to launch the HBC via bootmii then reinstall IOS60 and SM4.1. Since you have bootmii as boot2 you weren't in any real danger, but anyone else reading this who doesn't have that would stand a good chance on bricking permanently... Installing 4.1 on a 4.2 system without installing IOS60 from our guide first spells bad news. When N sent out the 4.2 update they stubbed IOS60 (which is the IOS that 4.1 needs) and installed IOS70. If you didn't have a modified IOS60, you would have bricked. Also, reinstalling any SM version removes priiloader, so no way to get access to your system unless you have a boot2 Wii.
Theming for you is relatively safe though. I've messed around quite a bit with them on my boot2 Wii and never bricked once. I wrote a Theme Guide if you want to check it out. It's in the Other Faqs, Guides and Tutorials section of the site.
I'm not gonna mess around with themes. Feel free to delete my post if you think others shouldn't try. But how would I boot into bootmii if I don't have the bootmii folder, all I have are the nand and keys file. And that backup does have a theme.
