So far, no. The worst it's been messed up from an update is that Homebrew became forced to 4:3. But Homebrew developers have already released a fix for that.
If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct :D

Look at it this way (Wii-U/vWii): Nintendo has effectively abandoned the platform (Wii). Each generation console for the most part tries to maintain backwards compatibility with respect to Nintendo's last iteration. The reason they do this is to make prior users feel they don't have to get rid of their Wii stuff, that it can be moved to the newer platform.
In this respect, it's included from a marketing standpoint. As no real further development is in the future for the Wii (Nintendo has ceased production of the Wii), likely the vWii will very well be ignored. I suspect the more worrisome standpoint is they don't want the Wii-U side hacked.
