Hey fellow hackers, hoping one of you is smarter than me - which would not be a great feat, I can assure you.
I modded my Wii as described here: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...y-4-2-wii.html
It is a 4.2U FW. NeoGamma-based backup disc launcher, not USB.
Like many others, RB1 and RB:Beatles launches just fine on NeoGamma, the mic works, but the instruments do not.
I have tried many approaches, most notably, the ones described in this thread. I have also tried modding the unit for GH5, which apparently also enables the instruments for RB and Band Hero.
Obviously, the exact instructions given in this thread have not worked for me. I.E., the multi-cIOS installer set to 37/36 on 248. I have also tried the following:
36/36 on 248 AND 232
37/36 on 248 AND 232
37/37 on 248 AND 232
All produce the same result - multicios downloads the files and installs them, no error messages. If I try to manipulate any other setting in Wad Manager 1.5 or SoftChip r99 on 248 or 232, it locks up my system.
In other words, when I attempt to launch the game in SoftChip on 248 or 232, the system locks. I am not even able to reach the settings menu to adjust the launch settings. As soon as I select for it to enable 248 or 232, lockup. If I attempt to install the IOS56 package for GH5 on 248 or 232, the system locks.
Something is funky. For whatever reason, I don't believe that multicios is installing the patch correctly, but it is giving no indication that it is running into any problems....other than my Wii crashing.
Any thoughts you guys have, feel free. I'm still extremely new to this community and the Wii in general, so be gentle :). Thanks!
After hours of playing around and installing everything the only instrument that showed up was the mic. I went to group play and then it gave me the option to play guitar, drums and since then everything has work perfect. Thanks for all the help guys.
I always launched rock band 1 & 2 and beatles RB via Hard Disk, with USB loader GX configurated with cios Hermes 222 and 223 to make the instruments work.
Then I used the PAL wad to download the DLC for RB2 via DVD (because of the problems with the wii memory), but the instruments don't work launching the game with DVD (except for the mic) with Neogamma.
What should I do?
First, i used multicios to install IOS37 merged with IOS 36 on IOS248(this was a bit tricky - find multicios app and using Dpad up-down-left-right, look for this configuration). Then went to softchip inserted the disc, selected the disc default video region (it seems weird but if you force it to system default it brings up a green screen), enabled "Fake IOS version" setting, disabled Load requested IOS" setting.
Finally, still on Softchip, pressed (+) to select IOS, selected IOS248 which I installed earlier, went back and loaded game with (A).
Let us know if this worked for you.
Thank you very much for your answer.
I tried to install IOS37 with IOS36 on IOS248 with multicios but during the installation I got an error -1017, return=-1.
I read somewhere that I need to install cIOS37 with trucha bug.
If it means to install IOS37 on IOS249 with the hash check using dop-ios, I did it.
And I keep getting 1017 error on multicios. Any idea?
Unfortunately I am not so experienced to answer this. All I can say is that i followed the guide for 3.1-4.1 system menu i found in this forum. I have a 4.1E PAL Wii.
Hey guys! I have some issues with Rockband 1 and Track pack 1. Instruments won't work. I've followed all the directions. I've managed to get all my Guitar Heros and Band Hero to work, as well as rock band 2. Any Ideas? I'm sure it's something simple and stupid, but just can't figure it out. Thanks!
FIRST YOU NEED TO COPY ALL THE CONTENT INSIDE THE "COPY TO ROOT OF SD" TO SD CARD THEN YOU FOLLOW THESE STEPS

6 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
7 - Select IOS249 "again" to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A

8 - Start the Homebrew Channel and run Wad manager 1.5
9 - select USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder-UCXF.wad and install on ios 249
