VC/WiiWare and EmuNAND
I could have sworn I saw a thread here that listed which VC/WiiWare games worked well off emunand but now I can't find it :( :(
Would someone please link me in that direction? Or am I mistaken and no such thread exists?
See, I have a couple of Wiiware games and a few vC games, which i installed to emunand using uLoader. (I simply put the wads in nand/install and it did the rest) but now I'm noticing that none of them actually work. i already expected castlevania not to work because i remember reading somewhere here that ot wouldn't, but other games like Three Musketeers and Lostwinds, even Megaman, aren't working in any of the loaders.
Perhaps there is a special loader for exclusively loading nand channels that may force them to work? a friend suggested that question, but my concern is that maybe all my games are specifically the ones that wont work. So I'd love to see a list of "troublesome vc/wiiware titles" if possible?
PS: Anyone know why setting "nand emulation" to "full" causes WiiParty to run in 4:3 mode?
Not sure if either of these are entirely suitable or what you speak of (having no experience with either), but:
In the USB Loader GX issue pages, one of the project members (can't remember which one, sorry... :dft001: ) said pretty much all emuNAND VC/WW titles work under cIOS rev17+ (before it became d2x), but I'm yet to try that. Too bad going so far back into cIOS has too many limitations to be practical at this point.
Not sure I follow; afaik, the d2x work, and better than the old Rev 17 cIOS.
d2x works for some games on emuNAND, but if you install N64's "Super Smash Bros.", for instance, it won't.
Found the post about old cIOS rev17. I quote:
"I'm currently testing to add back support for cIOS rev17+
Some VC/WiiWare work on emuNAND only with these cIOS"
I tried installing cIOS rev17 to slot 217, but USB Loader GX won't let me use it to run my VC/WW because it's not d2x. That's what I think said project member meant by "adding back support" for it.
Thanks, I went ahead and followed this guide, but i still get the same problem. Screen just goes black and my wii remotes stop working when attempting to load any of the games from emunand.

Now I have zero games in my emunand list, but a brand new problem arised... USBLoaderGX is not letting me change the view from "emunand" back to "wii games." First try, it just froze, the pointer stayed locked in position and the bg music skipped fast enough to sound like a loud buzz. I couldn't use my wii remote so i shut the power off by holding the button on tthe wii itself.... Loaded it up again, to change view from "emunand" to "wii games" and this time the bg music just stopped, my wii remote still moved the pointer but wouldn't click anything, and all channels remained blank. Again, couldn't turn off the wii using the remote, so I did it with the console button. The third time, I clicked "wii games" and unclicked "emunand", pressed OK and got a blak screen with a bunch of white letters and numbers that i couldnt understand. It said something about "stack dump" and "will reboot in 20 secods," but it never rebootedz it just remained frozen in that screen. The fourth time, it froze just like the second time, and I'm now worried. Is it at all possible that this has anything to do with the dios mios guide?
Something obviously isn't right with the config files and/or the nand dump. I hate to say it, but you would probably be better off starting from scratch again instead of trying to diagnose all of these problems.
First things first, post a syscheck so we can take a look at your existing nand setup to make sure any future nand dump will be good to go.
Now another bizarre thing happened...

After it was done filling up, the big green chek mark appeared and said it was done.
The screen then faded to black without giving my my syscheck, and simply brought me back to the homebrew channel.
I thought "what the heck, let me just run it again."
I click the "syscheck" app again, but this time a pop-up with a little red "X" on it comes up tht says "Error... this isn't a valid Wii application."
I've used this syscheck three times before this with no hiccups.
I believe I'm gonna have to just re-do my entire softmod from start to finish, which I seriously don't want to do :( is there another way?
Could be something with your SD card. Back it up and do a full format (not quick). And do you have any free space on your Wii? If you are completely full you could run into some issues.
I will copy my SD card to my computer and do a full reformat, first thing tomorrow. (Its late and im losing my mind lol)

I will continue with your instructions tomorrow and i seriously applogize if this gets annoying. I feel like I must be doub something wrong to keep generating these problems. i even leep re-reading my older posts of other problems to make sure i'm not just repeating and recreating the same issues and questions. Even though I've been in the wiimod lifestyle for about a year everything is still confusing nd new to me. I seriously thank you for your patience and willingness to help. I'd be lost without the guidance. I mean that.
