I would like to clear up a possible misunderstanding.
You see I've been asked by quite a few people, both here and in real life, "if you've hacked your old Wii, why haven't you hacked your Wii U yet?" Obviously we all know that Wii U mode is hack proof (for now at least) so I realize they must be meaning the virtual Wii mode, my reply is always pretty much the same: "I'm a little worried that one of Nintendo's forced updates will kill, if not the Wii U itself, at least the vWii. So I'm trying to wait till either my warranty expires or till there's some method of safe guarding the vWii such as Priiloader & BootMii did for the old Wii."
These opinions are mine alone and should not reflect upon the other staff. My sole reason for having this opinion is that the system cost me $350 (+ tax) and should something happen to it I could definitely not afford to buy a new one.
Now, I'm not saying anything bad will happen to your Wii U if you've modded it. We would not have the guide on the site if there was reason to believe it would cause damage to your system. That said, no one truly knows at this point if Nintendo will continue their trend of ignoring softmods on Wii U's vWii (I certainly hope that they do).
Bottom line, when I say I haven't hacked my Wii U cause I'm paranoid an update will brick it, I am not speaking on behalf of the staff. I hope this clears up any confusion my statements may have caused.
