Okay, so definitely some kind of bug. I put v8 on and when I loaded up Resident Evil 4 (it's the same with any game telling to attach the nunchuck), the instructions to attach the nunchuck were in Japanese.
The game played fine as usual, but the HOME button's screen was again in Japanese.
My Wii hasn't had the crashing problem since I did the re-soft-mod, but now that I'm getting the Japanese, I've noticed that sometimes the controller isn't being found via the sensor (NOT the batteries). I never had this problem either before or after the soft-mod, only now.
I think I'll have to completely re-soft-mod the whole Wii again and leave it be afterwards. Everything played fine aside from those games which it turned out were broken/bad rips/dumps anyway.
EDIT: Sorry, I had the page open and it's not on auto-refresh, so I didn't see your reply. I'll do that syscheck quickly now, but think that maybe re-soft-modding may be the best solution.
That Kirby worked perfectly after the soft-mod, ENGLISH only. All the Japanese and problems started after I tried to update the CIOS.
I'll let you know if the problem has gone away once I soft-mod again (hopefully later on today when I''ve more time).
Sounds great! Re-softmodding, this time following every step carefully would be excellent for your wii. Then you wouldn't have to ever re softmod again. Give the ios updating a try if ya haven't. Post the sys check after the re-softmod an you'll be straight. Ask them what cIOS you need, mentioning the Japanese problem.
You're lucky to be on firmware 4.1, that's the best firmware to be on. 4.3 being the latest and the worst. I'm on 4.2U myself.
Okay, so I re-soft-modded from Chapter 2, only this time when I downloaded the Shopping Channel, the MD5 past the hash check! So I installed it.
Anyway, the Japanese problem has gone but now my controllers don't work properly!
At first, I thought that I'd put the wrong priiloader on (I used the Motion Plus one), so went back and installed the other... but my controllers are still having the same sensor-recognition problem!
I'll post that syscheck in a few hours. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the sensor before all this, so refuse to believe that it suddenly broke. I have 2 original Wii standard remotes and 3 Chinese "fake" motion plus 'motes, which worked perfectly before.
Hmm, I just thought to try and re-register the remotes with the Wii... I'll do the syscheck anyway and this too. Will let you know. Hopefully, my problems solved now will help others in future.
You won't believe this, but everything now works PERFECTLY.
I don't understand it... all I did was unplug the Wii when I went to work. This morning, I plugged it in to do the syscheeck and no controller problems! I've been playing on it now for around 40 minutes - 3 different games - and no problems.
Thanks for all the help, I think that the re-soft-mod solved all my problems and that maybe the console just needed a rest afterwards.
I'm glad you finally solved your problem! This sure was a long case. Problems might occur in the future, but let's hope that it's not a game compatibility problem. You shouldn't have to re softmod after this, your wii is officially softmodded.
I almost didn't see your new message. It's always good to add "Edit:" to your new message in a post.
If you need any help, just send me a message, or post on the forum ^_^
