Sounds like a bug, but I think it's only hanging instead of returning "fatal error" like r197. As for what's actually causing that in the first place, I can't say specifically - it just means something went wrong trying to read the disc, either the drive not behaving properly or the disc being dirty.
well if this didnt work then im going to move next door to the county of diosmios! maybe i can work something there. thanks for all the help and quick responses.
dubmang: I wasn't replying to you. Your problem is with the USB loader, not Devolution (you already said the sample loader works).
since you are the creator, do you have any suggestions based on my syscheck i posted a few pages back and the symptoms ive shown? what about an older version of something? i see people talk about ios numbers alot..
If the basic loader works your problem has nothing to do with Devolution.
so what exactly does Devolution do I'm confused, does it allow you to run your iso backups of gamecube games from usb?
or does it let you do that only if you have the disc inside, which defeats the purpose of a backup? o_O
is there any way to run gamecube iso backups from usb without DM, since I'm having no luck with that
The disk is needed once to validate that the image is good (and you are not pirating content).
Once it has been validated, the disk is no longer needed to be in the system and the game can be played off of USB as-is.
i have several problems:
i want to use devolution on my wii u. but i have to prepare to use it on there. so i tried to backup the games on my wii. i dumped the copies with cleanrip. but i cant see them in wiiflow or usb loader gx. with the devolution app, i cant see the usb drive nor iam not able to run it from the sd card.
i was able to see them once in usb loader gx, but once i clicked on them my wii restarted.
this is what i did so far and tried:
usb:/games (where some *.isos are sittin)
added loader.bin in usb-loader gx (and set the loader-settings to devolution instead of MIOS)
usb-loader formatted in fat32 but i also have another wbfs partition on that hdd.
please help, i wasted the whole day on this and i have headache of reading all these (german)tutorials which did not help me.
For USB loader GX try putting the games in USB/games/GameID/game.iso.
For example; USB/games/GZLE01/game.iso.
See if that gets the games to show up. Also make sure you set the filter to display your GC games as detailed in the guide.
If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct :D
is not working :(
