I'll have to look into it. I tried researching it before but it was hard to find info. I'll update this post if I find anything.
EDIT: So far I can't determine if there was a revision that improved the USB controller, but WD external hard drives do have a history of having usb controller failures.

Hope the USB controller does not fail but it it does I may just replace the USB controller.
It shouldn't fail. I feel like most people that report hardware failures either got unlucky, since something is bound to go wrong eventually when you pump out thousands of units or don't handle things properly.
My usb controller is fine it just appears that whatever they changed when they switched to the 01 version causes it to work better with dios mios.
I'll probably end up either getting a larger memory card or trying to find a decent smaller HDD to use with dios mios. In the mean time I can use dios mios lite or devolution.
The download for dios mios v2.10 does not seem to be working, is there another place to obtain it?
Edit: I guess I was just being impatient. It wasn't working for about 10-15 minutes prior. Anyway I apologize.
Funny, works for me. Just tried it.
I really don't like to ask for anything, but none of the SEGA Sports games run on DML or DM. They all crash on the intro video. If they could just get past that one, single cutscene, then I wouldn't have to run them via disc. Not to mention that one of the most rare GameCube games of all time, NCAA Basketball 2K3 is unplayable because of this.
If that game (NCAA Basketball 2K3) becomes fixed/compatible, I'll paypal $20 immediately to the author that fixes it. Likely it will let NFL 2K3, NCAA Football 2K3 and NBA 2K3 work as well.
Thanks in advance.
According to the Dios Mios game compatibility list (link on first page), Sega Soccer works, but NBA 2K3 has issues. I do not know which games are also SEGA sports games (SEGA Soccer was the only one with "SEGA" in the name), but for the games that you see on that list that have issues or are not working, that is simply the case (for that version of DM).
I assume that you have gotten DM to work for games other than SEGA sports games to prove that the fault is not with you? It is possible that it is a bad rip.
Thanks for the reply. I've got over 50 ripped GC games (using clean rip) , and the only ones to ever give me compatibility issues is Cel Damage and the SEGA 2K2/2K3 collection. I've re-ripped NFL 2K3 and NBA 2K3 at least 3x a piece. Same fault when the intro video appears. Disc play works without issues. I re-bought those two technically used, but they are brand new, perfect discs.
All the 2K3 (on GC and other platforms) use the same menu's and intro video. It has to be the same fault when transitioning between video and menu.

I cant seem to get discex.exe to work by any means...
Discex.exe is listed under old method; did you actually try to follow the guide? If so, I'd have no idea why you're using the old method.
