It has just one partition, active and primary. FAT32, 32kb cluster size. It's connected to the usb port closer to the edge (USB0).
If the game is out of region force the video to your region and try different GC games because it maybe the game.
When you update GX and wiiflow remove the CFG files in the GX and wiiflow apps because the old CFG files can cause issues. Also remove duplicate gx or wiiflow folders only keep it on the SD or USB HDD not both.
Try from HBC 1st and update your GX Channel with USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT.wad
The game is not out of region, it's NTSC-U, just like the console. I'm going to try latter with another game, but i don't think that's the problem, the issue is why the console turns off after booting the game, my wii games work perfectly, so the problem must be related with Dios Mios.
EDIT: I have been checking some forums and it seems the problem could be my Western Digital hdd entering on sleep mode, the strange thing is that i don't have problems with wii games. When im at home im going to check if i can somehow disable sleep mode.
In GX on top click loader mode, check GC Games. And in wiiflow click the home button and reload cache. Did you install DIOS MIOS 2.9 for USB with Wad Manager 1.7 on IOS236 and not DIOS MIOS Lite 2.9 for SD? DIOS MIOS Lite 2.9 will only work if the games are on the SD.
I'm still using DIOS MIOS 2.6 with no issues so I did not update to 2.9
- Changed patch code to prevent false hits (DVDLowReadDiskID)
- Added C_MTXLightPerspective patching (Fixes heat effects when using wide screen hack in Zelda:WW)
- Fixed a bug in GCLoader that broke the progressive patch
- Moved progressive patch back 16 bytes, this fixes PADHOOK and progressive patching not working at the same time
- Fixed a bug that caused a black screen when using PADHook and Progressive mode patching at the same time
- Reduced HDD read time out to 25 seconds
- Added two disc supports (Extracted format is unsupported)
I installed Dios Mios 2.8 for USB with wad manager 1.7 on IOS236. I did it with 2.8 since the guide is for Dios Mios 2.8. Maybe i should give it a try with 2.9.
The changes since 2.6 have been minimal. If you run games with default settings or no tweaking the other special functions that has been around since 2.2, then you shouldn't see any difference between 2.6, 2.8, or 2.9. I didn't even know that 2.9 was released until I read this :)
Then if it's not that, as soon as i get home im gonna try with another game or another iso of the same game in case it's corrupted, and maybe with another hdd and i'll let you know if it worked
I did not update to DM 2.7 and DM 2.8 because off the bugs maybe DM 2.9 fixed the bugs. :)
DM 2.6 works perfect for me :)
Ok, i have been trying and i got this so far:
1- Now Wiiflow, USB Loader GX and Cfg Loader can see gamecube games.
2- With USB Loader GX and Wiiflow after trying to boot a game, the only thing i can get is black screens, nothing happens and i have to turn of my Wii, i have tried with no disc option on and off and the result is the same
3- Before booting a game on USB Loader GX i get this message "Warning: The no disc setting requires Dios Mios 2.2 update2. This setting will be ignored", which is weird since im using Dios Mios 2.8
4- With Cfg Loader i get the best results, but still nothing playable. With No disc option on I only get a black screen, just like with the other two loaders, and with no disc option off, sometimes the game boots, and after 2 minutes max, the console turns off.
Like you candylove suggested if im not wrong, i tried with a new iso of TLOZ: The Wind Waker and this are the results, so the iso was not corrupted or anything, i also tried with Resident Evil: Code Veronica X and the only thing i get, even with Cfg Loader is black screens.
I will try tomorrow with another HDD, but im running out of options, i don't know what else i can try.
Any ideas anyone? im stuck here.
Try DM 2.9 1st, DM 2.6 2nd, and DM 2.2 3rd and see which one works for you.

If you try DM 2.2 put NODISC to on in the usb loader settings
Also try GX r1198, Added DML 2.2+ new NoDisc support. r1198:R1198_IOS222-249-250.7z and DIOS MIOS Booter, if the latest usb loaders does not work with DM 2.2, sometimes when you change DM versions you may have to delete the CFG files in the usb loader apps because the old CFG files could cause issues.
DM 2.3 + : NODISC OFF
DM 2.2 : NODISC ON
