NMM doesn't work with all games. I don't know why.
NMM worked with Soul Calibur II for me. I haven't tried it with any other games but that and MGS:TS and it doesn't work on that.
I think the NMM still needs work, it was said that its going under heavy development. I think in the future it will be perfected. There was a time where people thought running GC backups from external storage was impossible. And DML came. I thought that was the end and now we have USB support, its amazing. Hats off to the team that got this up and running
Hey thanks for checking. Guess I'll have to haul my lazy ass up into the attic and dig out my genuine games. Meh.

PS did I have to have some CIOS or IOS or DML installed before doing all this? I have my WII MOdded with MODMII and did the SU updater thing!
How do I change my partition so it'll be first?
Dios Mios v2.0
Could it be that it doesn't like Black WIIs? mine is the one that came with MArio KArt and the Wheel!, now if I re-install the REComended cios from ModMII, it reads gamecube games again, just can't get the DAMN DIOS MIOS 2.0 working! it DOES see the game, but goes balck when I try to run it, no DIOS MIOS splash screen or anything, just sits there BLACK!!!  :(
says at there site FAQ: I just get a black screen (no DIOS MIOS splash screen)
Chances are high that your USB2IDE device isn't supported.
- Assure that your HDD is formatted with FAT32, no other FS is supported.
- Only cluster sizes 32KB or less are supported.
- The FAT32 partition MUST be the first primaly partition on the HDD, otherwise it will not work.
- If all the above are ok try another USB2IDE device or wait for an update.
BLAH , I have all that, could it be the HDD isn't compatible?!?!? I even had to FORMAT it and re-install ALL my 120 games! it used to be in WBFS, now I formatted it to FAT 32, like it sayz! it is a Seagate FreeAgent Go-Flex 640GB!
This could be your problem,Chances are high that your USB2IDE device isn't supported ...As stated from that Guide.

No,it has nothing to do with The color of your wii and why the program is failing.
I have the same problem, it works on my son's wii and his HDD but not on my Hdd.
I still use DML for this purpose.
I recently followed Pob3008's DML tutorial and got things working as far as GC backups go... albeit its from a 2GB SD card. I planned on getting a 16GB SD card to replace it, then I happened upon this little post. Firstly, good work to those involved!
However, I have a question... if I can avoid buying an SD card and just use my HDD that I've been using for WiiFlow, that'd be great. How would one go about setting up this program in my current situation? I have DML, I currently use a compatible HDD which was formatted by WBFS Manager 3.0, but when I plug it into my PC it says it has to format before its able to use it.
I noticed the tutorial, I'm just unsure if I should follow it with DML installed at the moment, or if its safe to do so. Thanks!
You would have to have your HDD formatted to Fat 32 set as Primary and Active, and the cluster size can not be larger then 32kb.
You would have to install the Dios MIos wad ,using the wadmanager, this will over write the DML wad.
Dios Mios is similar to DML booting with the exception that Dios Mios gives you the option of loading from both Sd Card/Usb HDD
Remember that your drive might not be compatible.(The USB2IDE)
it took me a lot of time to finally get this installed...(had to copy my 360 gig hd and reformat it to 32 bit then re copy back to it) but it seems to work great...don't have a game it doesn't work with...as a matter of fact my legend of zelda collectors edition even works...all 4 games...using dios mios loader (threw homebrew channel) with a disk in the drive...can't wait till usbloader implements this without trying to copy to sd card
