Do you have that retail disk installed on your USB/SD? I'm thinking that the retail disks will still work if DM sees it on the mass storage. It is still read from the disk at that point, because if you eject, the game complains and tells you to put in back in.
I've not tried loading a disk that wasn't also on my USB though, I've ripped my entire library.
EDIT: OK. Forget what I said. I dig through my boxes of games and found one that I didn't rip (Pac-Man World 2)
I put the disk in, selected it from the disk channel on the Wii Menu, and it launched. I still got the DM splash screen, but the game ran just like normal.
Ugh, I spent hours upon hours trying to get these Gamecube games to work on the same HDD as my Wii games. Turns out my hard drive was incompatible with DIOS MIOS (Seagate 2TB expansion desktop), I managed to get the games working with an 8GB Sandisk usb stick I found lying around. I guess it pays to test different drives
Thank you so much, I have been trying to get this to work forever and after searching and searching using old versions worked right away!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!
I have followed this guide and my GC games will only load up sometimes. Otherwise, nothing happens and I'm just stuck at a black screen. Maybe it's because I'm using DIOS MIOS 2.7 instead of 2.6?
That usually means they are bad dumps and should be reripped from the original disks with CleanRip or installed using GX r1209's install feature.Quote:

Unless the specified games are not on the compatibility list.Quote:

What is the GX r1209 install feature? Would that help?
It can't hurt to try . Rename the directory of the game in question (or delete it all together), and then load GX with the disk in the drive. Press the "+" button in the lower-left of the screen and it will ask if you want to install the game. Say Yes, and it will take about 10-15 minutes.
After that, it should show up in your game list. try launching it to see if it works.
I tried that but now it only worked once for each game (the first time loading from GX). Maybe I did something wrong with DIOS MIOS?
Never mind. I downgraded DIOS MIOS to 2.4 and that seemed to do the trick.
