Wii Video output Problem.
Hello, first I want to apologize for coming here for help without participating in normal community discussion. However, I believe any other forum would give me generic answers than actual, technical help.
For at least two years my Wii has been soft-modded and working just fine. For this I'm very happy because I know I can backup my saves and games easy in case a problem such as this occurs. My problem is the video output on my Wii. Upon being powered on, the audio, menus, controllers, etc. work perfectly. The only problem is that my TV does not detect video from the Wii. To try to find the problem, I first switched the cables to the back of my TV. After this failed to fix the problem, I brought my Wii to my friends house to test it with his equipment. I simply took my Wii and plugged it into the same plugs and TV his was in. Since this did not fix the problem, I assume it is a problem with the Wii itself, not with my cables or TV. The only reason I can think of that this problem might have occurred is a power surge. We had a bad surge one night and a few weeks later, when I decided to start playing my Wii again, it was as it is currently. I've simply ignored the problem for around a year now, but I feel I need to get it working again because, unfortunately, I cannot emulate everything.
So I ask you people for help. I plan on bringing my Wii to my previously mentioned friend to see if we can find a small something wrong inside of the Wii. But until then I would love any input you guys can give me on why this problem is occurring and how I might fix it. I will provide as much information about my Wii as I can. If all else fails I will send it into Nintendo (Would this be an OK idea? Or will they not like the soft-mod I have?). Thank you in advance for the help.
