Full Brick, Reviving Methods? (Need opinions)
Alright, so unfortunately I managed to fully brick my Wii trying to downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1... I did make a nand backup, but it's not compatible with boot2 and I didn't install priiloader, so I'm pretty much screwed over. (Full black screen, no video output). Now I've done a good bit of research and I've determined there are really only about 3 practical methods for restoring, and I would like some additional information and opinions from people who know a bit more than I do about the way these things work.
1) Buy a new motherboard and swipe it out. This seems to be a commonly overlooked solution, but if I understand correctly, the Wii's internal memory is stored completely on the main motherboard, and therefore replacing that would be like a fresh reset. (Provided the motherboard was new, in its original state.) Here's what I found for a replacement:

The questions I have regarding this are...
- Is there any hardware differences between Wii versions that I need to know before buying? (I.E. If newer Wii's have a differently shaped motherboard or such)
- Is my theory in fact true, that the internal memory is fully on this board? (The one in the link)

The description in various places tends to state that it can help with a low-level failure like from installing a system menu from another region... This is not my issue, so I'm not sure whether it will work or not. My questions about this are...
- Will it work with my full black screen brick?
- Will I need a modchip?
- Would Wii Sports work for the update trick?
3) "SaveMiiFrii", as it is dubbed. From what I understand, this is actually a modchip that you connect so it can autoboot from a disk, using a gamecube controller to pull up the recovery menu. My questions for this are...
- Pressing buttons on a gamecube controller seems a bit far-fetched unless there was a safety mechanism built in by Nintendo. Could someone explain how exactly this allows such a method to work?
- Where I can I find the drivekey/Wasabi DX?
- My Wii is not able to read burnt disks. Will this chip allow it to do so?
- Is it even necessary to burn a boot disk, or can you simply do the update trick that's supposed to work for SaveMii?
Looking at my options... 1 and 2 appear to be the most practical and cheap methods. The pro to replacing the motherboard is that it's essentially fool-proof, provided my assumption was correct, and that I don't mess up any parts when taking the Wii apart. On the other hand, if SaveMii works I could potentially save my Mii's, savedata, etc, where as a change in motherboard would not. However, save data is the least of my worries when the Wii isn't working, so I'm leaning towards the motherboard. On the other hand, getting a new motherboard does not safe guard from any future brickings, so I would have to refrain from softmodding attempts in order to protect the future of my system.
Alright, so there's my long rant. If you actually read all of it, thank you, and I would greatly appreciate some input. Would it be wise (and cheapest) to go for the new motherboard?
Tl;dr: Black screen, no boot2, no Priiloader. Buy new motherboard, SaveMii, or SaveMiiFrii?
