When I redid my signature just now, the total character count was 998 including BB code (according to the word count tool in LibreOffice). However, the site gave me an error claiming it was over 1000. I ended up having to trim it down to under 990 to get it to work. It's not a huge deal since I can always use TinyURL or something to shrink the links if necessary, but I thought it would be worth mentioning.
Yours counted 995 on the one I used. If you took out 8 chars to get to what yours said was 990 that means the it was 1003 according to the tool I used. When you cut it that close you will have issues.
Edit...I came up with 995 on 4 different tools and 996 on one.
The one I currently have (which is slightly different than the first one that didn't get errors) is 972 according to LibreOffice. Does the site add anything to the post (like quote marks to the URL or something)?
Not sure, but I just copied and pasted the code from the one you currently have and the results were the same as I originally posted. It's not a forum bug, I think it's a bug in your counter. Either way, when you run it that close you are asking for it to get denied.

Yes they do. Without spaces I get something like 955. Anyway, if it's not a forum bug, then I guess this thread is kinda pointless. And the sig as I have it is working fine, so I guess it's all good. Thanks.
