IOS236 is a patched version of IOS36 it works even if the other IOS slots are filled by stubs already.

hey folks, back again! Still haven't been able to run a syscheck on my console, still getting stuck on ios9. Think i'll just reflash and start over. I'm going to update my nephew's console tomorrow to install the new d2x cios's but I'm going to it by following mauifrog's tut (I originally modded my nephew's console the same way as my own so I want to avoid potentially running into the same problems). I just have one concern, he's a young kid, and as young kids do, if you tell him to stay away from something he tends to do the opposite!!! So I would rather not have the backup HBC, backup disc channel, and provided wiiflow works, i would rather not have cfg usb loader (i find cfg has too many options clearly visible, not kid friendly!). could you tell me what I need to do to omit these from the mauifrogs guide (i.e. what wads do I need to remove etc).
    Many thanks as always.

Reinstalling IOS9 will fix the problem.

Don't remove any wads from maui guide. Make everything as said in the guide, when you finish download Wiiflow or whatever you want and put it in the apps folder. You can remove the usbloader folder in the apps folder if you dont want CFG.

cheers, I'll try re-install ios9. I could remove cfg from apps but I will still be left with an unnecessary forwarder channel on the menu, and also the backup HBC and disc channel. I really dont want to have these sitting on the menu at all. I know maui's guide is very solid, and "if it aint broke dont fix it", but surely it wouldnt cause any harm to just not install these in the first place??

You can then uninstall the forwarder channel from Data Managerment. Btw... backup HBC and disc channel?

Ok, I'll try it that way. Yeah if u follow the guide to the letter u end up with a backup homebrew channel and backup disc channel and I really don't want these either. I found the backup hbc wad in one of the wad packs, but I'm not sure which one installs the backup disc channel.

Hi its been a hell of a long time since I did anything to my wii but I figure since Wii U is coming I would not bother but I wanted to see what has been going on and from reading this It seems that this CIOSx Edition fixes the ios reload stuff so you can actually run metroid and other properly with no disable reload and alt dol usage ?

I do have couple questions hence why I am here.

    1. I already have a Standard CiosX installed on 249, Do I need to remove all previous installed Ciosx that is not this modified version ? or will it replace it ?

    2. What does"Remeber to Do the same for IOS250 but with base 57" mean what If I don't want to ? with a normal CiosX I would just install it on 249 with a base of 56 and then let it download and install and reboot
    3. Since it has been a while I do not quite remember the procedures for replacing a CIosX revision other then to select yes to download I forget the rest

    4. Can I just install this on 249 with a base of 56 and completely replace my existing non Dx2 install of Ciosx to get the benefits of this one.

    5. This this part here "
Select IOS36 or 236 to use during the instllation" that is just the IOS it will use during the install right ?, but the Ios and base I choose such as 249 base 56 will be where it actually installs on the wii ?

Sorry for all the really dumb questions but it has been over a year since I looked at modifying the wii since I last done it I think I was on some beta Ciosx I will run the syscheck to find out what rev I was using and what bases.

Thanks your time its appreciated, like I said I figured I would do a final upgrade of all needed things and try out this new so called "Postloader" that apparently boots into a "alt startup" or something but still supports all the HB loading and everything else seems nice and its optional boot as I would just tell priiloader to boot to sysmenu if I dont like it haha.

Anyway I have the needed files for everything on my USB ready to move to SD using the Wiimanager tool. Just wanted to be clear on some stuff beforehand

    Thanks

    EDIT

I worked it by remembering in the end so never mind about above also the CIOS patcher was locked into IOS 61 36 was not an option still it seems to have completed.

The summery on both 249 with base of 56 and 250 with base of 57 tells me the dx2 rev 6 is installed.

    Hi,
I extracted to "wad" folder on the root of the SD.

This is wath Wad Manager v1.7gives me and

in this point I have doubts

Select ios version to use: IOS249/Ios 236 --- it gives me automaticly ios 247--- wich one?
Selekt Nand emuleitor divace /Disable/SD carde/usb 2.0 mass strong device----- Wich one?
Select sorse devise Wii: Sd slot ------This is ok I do not hesitate

    NEXT I get:

    Filebrouse
    AppS
    Wad ------------I choose this folder
    usbLoader CGG.dol

Then i get this and I have to install them

    IOS251[58]-v7b1d.wad
    IOS250[57]-v7b1d.wad
    IOS249[56]-v7b1d.wad
    IOS248[55]-v7b1d.wad
    IOS247[53]-v7b1d.wad
    IOS246[38]-v7b1d.wad
    IOS245[37]-v7b1d.wad

My question is should I use the same options for all wads?Ios/(nand emuleitor devise/etc.)
    Tanks!
