Lets not turn this into another SD/SDHC thing The fact is that a lot of micro SD cards are SDHC....and a lot of SDHC cards don't work.

That's where it comes from.... the "you should use a regular SD card, not Micro SD". Micro/Mini/Regular it doesn't matter... what matters is if the card is SDHC or not.

(yes I know some work but most don't).
    Damn I suck!!!!

    Update IOS's?

Using MMM and looking through IOS manager there are several options to update to newer IOS's (28 in all!) Should I leave well enough alone? Are there any I should definitely NOT update? (white/yellow)
p.s. I've been away from my wii for some months so I haven't tried to play anything newer that MHT.So the aint broke don't fix it rule may not apply here.\
    Thanks and Merry Christmas

If you are playing your games via a backup loader then your IOS do not matter. Best to leave things alone untill you need to update something.

There is really no reason to update your IOS if everything works that you want to work. If you still want to update, I am almost positive multi-mod manager won't install a stub so you should be safe (I will confirm this when I get a chance).

Just leave your system IOS alone.....so don't touch IOS30, 50, 60, 70, 80. Leave them how they are (if you don't have all of them don't worry about it).

@Krank: I'm not just trying to promote my own guide, but it would be safer if oaklund8 were to use Update All Your IOS's instead of doing it manually, and easier as well, since they are all installed at once.

@oaklund8: It is usually best to update IOS as-needed. I have read that newer IOS's sometimes improve performance, but I really don't think it's true. Even if it is, I doubt the change would even be noticable. If you are set on updating, use the link in my sig and choose the download pack that suits you best. If you have questions about it, post them in my guide.

Hello, I have to say this is a great post and I am interested in using MMM to update my wii because some games are not working and locking up. Please excuse my ignorance as I only mess wiht the wii when things are not working for my kid. I currently have the following config and I am interested in trying this use this tool and I am looking for some direction if its the best route?

    Question/Reasons to update:
    a. update to at least SM 4.1 since the HB channel 1.0 is the only one I can use at my level if I update it, it will not work so that is why I am interested in going to at least 4.1
    b. I have been using the gx loader for 2 years works great but reading a lot of talk about it bricking wii's
    c. to correct my games not working issue, COD black ops, speed racer and metriod lastet version.

    my setup:
    WII 3.2u
    Homebrew 1.0
    soliderless WIIClip
    ios38
    ios53
    ios55
    cIOS38 rev14

Can I use this utility to update my wii or is it recommend to go another way. It sounds like one hell of a utility, but I do not want to do anything till I ask. In addition off topic but should I get away from the GXLoader and use another to load games from my usb external wfbs partition?

Thank you in advance and Happy New Year to all.

Thank you nightstah, i have read that but it appears to deal with softmods and I am not sure at which point I should follow. I guess I need to know where I am at so that I can tell where to start, but I am not sure how to use the syscheck, need to understand where to put that on my current sd card to use..

Thanks again I will keep searching and reading...

Follow the softmod any wii guide. The update your softmod guide will not get you where you want as it doesn't include the latest cIOS so I don't recommend it.

You can do all of this with MMM if you want but it's easier and safer to follow the guide.
