    1. Open this thread in Firefox if you haven't already
    2. Download the ftp client for Firefox from here.
    3. Click on install when the download is complete. (you will be prompted that Firefox needs to restart)
    4. When Firefox restarts, click on tools
    5. Select "FireFTP"
You don't HAVE to use Mozilla Firefox for this to work. Don't get me wrong, I love Firefox (using FF 4.0b4 right now), but you don't HAVE to use it. I used WinSCP as my FTP client on the PC side of things. I already had it installed since I can use it to make a SSH connection to my iPhone.

The directions are similar, just make sure you change the file protocol to FTP and change the port to 21. Leave the username and password fields empty.

You are absolutely correct. I have also used FileZilla and others in the past but I became a fan of FireFTP and chose to write the guide using it. I was looking at this guide through a newbies eye's. I figured that if a user was already familiar with a different ftp client then they wouldn't need a guide to set it up.

Hey Krafter this looks cool, I've been away from the wii for a while, so I'm updating stuff. When updating hbb it asked me to install hbb also bootmii, the only option I got for dvdx is to uninstall, so I'm assuming its on there ?, I just dont have the banner for it in with the rest of my apps, will I just d/l it in hb utilities or is it necessary. If it helps I've got Mplayer ce and I can watch movies, does this tell you anything ?.
    Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you are all set. DVDx will not show up in your channel list because it isn't a channel. If you had the option to uninstall it that means it's installed.

Hey Krafter, got it connected to the wii anyway. A few questions if you dont mind though.
1/ Mounted SD ok, failed to mount usb ?. ( maybe just asleep cause I wasnt using it ) ?
2/ I was just gonna try ftp a GX .dol to update the one I've got, question is, will it automatically overwrite the existing one or do I have to choose where it goes ? as I've a lot of .dols in my apps. There were only a few folders showed up on the right hand side to choose from. Or do I import the files from my wii and then select ?.
Sorry for the ?s but I dont want to corrupt any files if I can help it. So I wont try until I hear back from you.
    Thanks again.

    1. Not sure on the hard drive. It could just be asleep. Does it work with your HBC? If all else fails verify that you still have DVDx installed by running the Hackmii installer again. If not, then refer back to my guide.
    2. It will overwrite the existing dol or any other file that you want but just out of habit I always delete the file first and then copy it over but that's just me.
