How To Restore the Trucha Bug in IOS36 [Guide]

What this Guide is for

System Menus 3.0 to 4.3

Fixing Error 2011 or 1035

If You get the Error - "Could not set the revision to 0. Downgrade failed"

Anyone Having Trouble Restoring Trucha to IOS36

PLEASE NOTE

You Need HBC & Bootmii Installed

If you have already done this successfully in another guide, this is not for you

If you already have a cIOS you don't need to do this*

Never Delete an IOS below 200 -- Never Install a Stub IOS

Using Cboot2 - System Menu - 3.0 - 4.3

Backup & Full Format your SD Card to FAT32 - Download MMM_TBR_Pack.rar

Extract to SD:\ (SD Root)

Option 1

Option 1

1. Load HBC - Press [HOME] - Select Launch BootMii - Wait - MMM Loads (This will NOT work if MMM is loaded from HBC - You need to load via cboot2)
2. Select "WAD Manager"
3. Select IOS36 v65535 - Press A to Install - Wait -
4. Select cIOS236 v65535 - Press A to Install - Wait - Done

Option 2

1. Load HBC - Press [HOME] - Select Launch BootMii - Wait - MMM Loads (Or Load MMM from HBC)
2. Select "Install & Patch IOS36" - Choose "Express Mode" - Wait
3. Verify a successful Install - Press any key to Continue - Done

1. Load HBC - Press [HOME] - Select Launch BootMii - Wait - MMM Loads (Or Load MMM from HBC)
2. Select "Install & Patch IOS36" - Choose "Normal Mode"
3. Load IOS15-64-v1032.wad from : < SD Card > - Press A
4. Load IOS15-64-v257.wad from : < SD Card > - Press A
5. Load IOS36-64-v3608.wad from : < SD Card > - Press A - Installing, wait.
6. Load IOS36-64-v3608.wad from : < SD Card > - Press A - Installing, wait.
7. Installation Complete - Press any key to Continue - Done

If you get Error (-1035) on Option 3 Step 4 - Continue on with Step 5

Problems?

If you get a blackscreen when launching bootmii - Download- bootmii_ini_pack and extract the RAR to your PC and select the appropriate bootmii.ini file (read the Instructions.txt) and place the re-named bootmii.ini file in the bootmii folder on your SD card. Replace the current bootmii.ini when asked. Now try to load MMM again by selecting "launch bootmii" from the Homebrew Channel. Thanks to JoostinOnline for the pack.

If your HBC turns Upside down then Install IOS58 and Reinstall The Homebrew Channel with the latest HackMii Installer.

Using AHBPROT - System Menu - 3.0 - 4.3

*Requires an Internet Connection*

Backup & Full Format your SD Card to FAT32 - Download AHBPROT_MMM_TBR_Pack.rar

Extract to SD:\ (SD Root)

Option 1

1. Load MMM from HBC and select "Wad Manager"
3. Select IOS36 v65535 - Press A to Install - Wait -
4. Select cIOS236 v65535 - Press A to Install - Wait - Done

Option 2

1. Load MMM from HBC and select "IOS Manager" and press 1 to install a custom IOS
2. "Select a base" - Choose IOS36 - "Select a location" - Choose IOS236
3. "Select version to install as" - Choose v65535
6. "Select the patches to apply" - Press A to say YES to ALL four patches
7. "Load IOS36-64-v3608 from" - Select "SD Card" - Press A to install - Wait
8. "Finished Installing IOS236 v65535" - Press any button to continue - Back in IOS manager navigate to IOS36 and Press A
9. "Select the patches to apply" - Press A to say YES to ALL four patches
10. "Load IOS36-64-v3608 from" - Select "SD Card" - Press A to install - Wait
11. "Installing IOS....OK!" - Press any button to continue - Press B to exit IOS Manager - Press HOME to exit MMM.

Old Method

System Menu 3.1-4.2

Backup & Format SD Card - Download TBR - MMM - DOP-Mii [Pack].rar

Copy the "SD Card ROOT" Folder Contents, to the Root of the SD Card

1. Load The Homebrew Channel -- Press HOME -- Select "Launch BootMii"

2. Wait 5-10 Seconds -- Trucha Bug Restorer will Load

3. Press "B" to continue without IOS Reload -- Wait & Read The Info -- Press "1" to Start

4. Select "IOS36 menu" -- Press A

5. "Install IOS to slot:" 36 (36 Should be selected already, if not, select it)

Change ALL patches to read -- YES

Patch hash check (trucha): YES
Patch ES Identify: YES
Patch nand permissions: YES
Patch version check: YES

6. Select "Install Patched IOS36" --Press A -- Select <Load from SD card> -- Press A

7. Press A again to start Installation -- Wait -- Done , Press Any Button to Exit

2. Select "Install & Patch IOS36" -- Press A

3. Choose "Express Mode" -- Press A

4. Wait -- When Finished, Press any button to exit TBR -- Press HOME to exit MMM

2. Wait & Read The Info -- Press A to Continue

3. Select "Install IOS36 (v3351) w/FakeSign" -- Press A

4. "Are you sure you want to continue" -- Press A

5. "Downgrading IOS15 to v257" -- Select <Load WAD from SD Card> -- Press A

6. "Restoring IOS36 to v3351" --(Applying The Patches -- Say YES to ALL Patches)

- "Apply ES Identify patch to IOS36" -- Press A

- "Apply NAND Permissions Patch" -- Press A

7."Loading IOS36 v3351 into memory" -- Select <Load WAD from SD Card> -- Press A -- Wait

8. "Would you like to restore IOS15 to v523?" -- Press A-- Select "Load WAD from SD Card" -- Press A -- Wait.

9. Done -- Press Any Key to Continue -- Press HOME to Exit

My problem is ios36 doesn't even show up selected. Then I scroll left and right and its not even there as a selection. I have version 3.1 and I followed steps correctly from the 3.1-4.1 guide. What should i do?

If you already followed the 3.1-4.1 guide and it was successful then you shouldn't need to do this.

Not sure why you wouldn't have IOS36 installed but you can install it, then fakesign it if you want (keeping in mind what I said above).

Hi Guys, I too was having issues downgrading iso15 and whatnot.

I used this guide and it worked well, although it turned everything an orange/brown color and really slowed things down.

Any idea what's going on with that?

Very strange..... I would try following the guide again or you can download IOS36 with all patches by using DOP-mii found here.

Can you clarify that? What do you mean by Everything? I have tested this guide fully on 2 different Wiis with no issues.

Install the UNPATCHED IOS 36 that I linked above, see if it changes (Although I don't see how it would cause the issues you describe).
