both steps worked thanks krank, now if i wanted to update HBC TO 1.0.8, i would be able to? as well as do a system check with either SysCheck or DOP-mii?

i ended up full formatting my sd card and then added my backup, but trying to install hackmii through MMM gave me the same error, and so did SysCheck, starting to think it's my backup, and willing to start from scratch only if this will fix it.

hi all. im on my second wii softmod (1st one bricked but my fault) , i was wondering if i need DopMii v13 on my system. and for some reason if i take out sd card i dont have anything on my homebrew channel. is there a way to keep the apps on channel without sd card in slot? ( wad manger, truncha bug, neogamma, ect). system 4.1U. i do have bootmii as ios installed. and what else would you recommend for a flawless system to run good. i run all games off usb hd and wiiware as well.

make sure you have priiloader installed for brick protection
unless you have the apps on your usb hdd, when you take the sd card out, the apps will disappear

you don't necessarily need dop-mii, you can always keep it on your computer and if you need it, then put it on your sd card
I wouldn't recommend it if someone could potentially run it, not knowing what they're doing, and potentially mess up your setup

I've installed wiigator MIOS, and since i realised I don't need it, i've uninstalled it through WAD manager. Is it safe to use DOP-Mii to restore the system's original MIOS and others IOSes that I want?

I'll say go for it as long as you know what you're doing

He obviously doesn't know what he is doing if he uninstalled a cMIOS wad. Had that been a System Menu IOS, you would have a full brick. You can install MIOS with Dop-Mii, but don't mess with any other IOS's unless someone experienced gives you instructions.

that's why I said if you know what you're doing...
@DyCer, if you don't understand what you're doing, just install the mios

Sorry, I didn't mean for that to sound offensive. I was just afraid that DyCer thinks he knows what he is doing (no offense meant DyCer) and would install other IOS's.

    Don't worry about it.
I guess I should watch what I say, someone may think they "know what they're doing" and screw things up
