Will following this guide compromise (or even brick?) a Wii that has been set up by following the steps in the guide "Softmod any Wii"?

black screen then return to system menu after running the iso forwarders from usb loader gx. following the guide perfectly and am making no mistakes there. i've even installed cIOS 249 rev 17 as suggested by multiple people here (down from d2xv8 final), but that only made it so the black screen does not eventually go back to system menu.. instead just stays black and requires a hard reset. this seemed extremely simple at first, given the ease of the instructions but as most things are i guess it was too good to be true.

im using mighty channels.. this was made for triiforce so i'm assuming the paths are different or something and NandGames/Loader.dol cannot find mighty channels to start the game? maybe i am totally off. i tried renaming the mighty channels folders to triiforce out of sheer have-no-clue-what-to-do-ness but that did not work roflmao. out of ideas and can find 0 helpful information. i just want to get this done so someone who knows how to make these stupid things work, if you could - LET ME KNOW! because this is making no sense to me anymore.

for some reason running the zestig.exe...... runline command results in an error forcing me to close the application using two different computers
It creates the nand folder but it only has "sys, title and ticket" folders inside it.

I already have a nand that I use for triiforce mrc, can I just use that one and proceed to the next steps? It is in the same format, but it already has the wiiware wads installed into the title and ticket folders using wad2nand

ok so i used simple fs dumper instead of the runline command process and got a nand
    followed the guide
And I get a black screen
    tried cfg loader and usbloadergx
verified the folders were in the right places and even made duplicates on sd card just in case it was trying to read from there instead of usb. Tried switching my ios versions. still just black screen
Not sure what the problem is.

I even tried some goofy stuff like using the forwarder with the alt dol setting and used the dol file from triiforce to see if I could get cfg loader to launch triifocre. It made it to the startup screen but crashes when loading the games. Triiforce itself works fine with the new nand

I really would like to get this to work somehow

The wad2iso link is dead, I googled and found a download of it, but when I attempt to install (ran as admin) it tries to download v 4.7.0.0 and fails every time.

Also, to people having issues, according to GBATemp, turn off blocking ISO reload, and certain games do not work with d2x.

EDIT: Which of the latest versions of d2x are recommended to get this working? I was poking through modmii and d2x seems to have a lot of new version.

EDIT:EDIT: Using CFG it couldn't find loader.dol, I figured out the problem, (didn't put it in NandGames) and it fixed the problem, but games would freeze on a black screen afterwards. I updated my wii's cIOS 249 and 250 to v8 of d2x (without changing their version, 56 and 57 respectively) and then CFG couldn't find loader.dol anymore, so I took my nand backup off the FAT32 partition and used showmiiwads to inject the cIOS into them just like what it would have done if I made a new backup and re-followed the guide, and it still can't find the loader.dol. Any ideas?

Also, I can use a filebrowser homebrew I found to launch the loader.dol manually and it loads into a triiforce screen that will let me load all of my games I added successfully. How would I set up an iso forward to something that is in the actual NAND?

I'll post a syscheck report later, in hopes of it helping.

I also had the 'couldnt find loader.dol' with d2x v8 it was solved by pasting 'NandGames' folder to the sd root.
Then i got black screens when loading the wiiware's iso, i made that iso load from 236 with usbloader gx and it is working now.

i dont know if it is a good choice to make 236 default for gx?, but adjusting settings for these games seems to work.

it seems that setting block ios reload to off works (and you dont get to switch ios for the loaders).
i dont know if its answered in this thread already but if you get a blackscreen when returning to wii menu you have to rename the folder '00000001'(thats all zeros endend in one, dont remember how many there are) inside the 'ticket' folder

I use CFG, but its likely irrelevant. Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a shot later.

    SysCheck

Anything wrong here or in need of change?
And how do I use this guide to add games in my real nand to my loader?

    black screen

I have the same problem. When I want to start the wiiware iso's from any usb loader, the screen turns black and only a hard reset helps.

I don't know enough about the software details, but I followed the homebrew tutorial of this forum, so normal I'm on the recommended software.

Someone has a sollution to this problem?

    Thanks.

Thanks for the guide. Before I start this I currently have my Wiiware on a USB drive in FAT32 format along with my backup ISO's in WBFS format. I use one loader to access my wiiware and CFG Loader to access my ISO's. Currently my WBFS partition is chocka and I can't get any more on there. The FAT32 partition has space on it.

I am a bit confused as to where the Wiiware ISOs will be located. Are they located on the WBFS partition or the FAT32 partition? 6.2 says to transfer the ISOs to WBFS but if its full I wont be able to do this.
Would it be easy to use a partition manager to extend the WBFS partition. Do you know roughly how large the FAT32 partition should be?
    Thanks.

    Hi!
I folowed this guide till step5.Then I tried to download wad2iso but I could not. After some changes (run as admin, disabled antivirus) it finished downloading without errors. But when I chose .wad files to convert in .iso it starts to convert then and finish really quick but I get only "Finished ISOs" folder without .isos in there. No mether what I tried I could not convert wad to iso.Did anyone had this problem before? Can someone winrar and upload to mediafire his wad2iso folder?I tried 4.7 version, does someone has older version to send me? And is there any other program that can do this to?
