My backup nand does not have the updated IOS to play some of the newer wiiware games. I was wondering if its possible to update the ios using showmiiwads? I would delete IOS 53, 55, 56 from the nand(nand for isof) using showmiiwads. Then right click and install the latest version through showmiiwads.

I think the proper way of doing that would be to create a new NAND backup with the updated IOS's installed.

If you want to update the IOS's on your Wii, just install the newer versions, they will overwrite the current versions.

You could do that but that won't make a difference. The game does not use the IOS installed on the emulated nand to run the game.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Thanks, works a treat. I have found a quicker and easier way though :
so, here is the best order to do this
    1. get simple fs dumper and put the .dol in sd:apps/Simple FS folder, make sure u have your hdd plugged into the wii and that
u have a fat 32 partition ( i made mine 10gb and its plenty if its just for wiiware etc)
    2. then run simple fs from homebrew channel and set it to use the usb hdd, it will backup your nand to usb:.
    3. While that is doing it`s thing, on the pc, put all your wads in 1 folder.
    4. use wad2iso to create the forwarder iso`s - select all wads, click open, then cancel when it
asks if u want to change any settings (unless you know of any games that require different ios`s etc.)
    5. Once simple fs has finished, plug your hdd back into pc,copy the folder Nand Games (in wad2iso folder) to the root
of your fat 32 partition, this has triiforce in it, which the iso forwarders point to. so now u should have 9 folders.

    6. Next Use showmiiwads and in options change nand backup path to your fat 32, then click view - showmiiwads then
click file - open folder that has all your wads in,
    7. Wait for wad2iso to finish
    8. In showmiiwads select all of them then right click and extract - to nand. When the green bar in the bottom left
    stops, it`s done.
    9. Next use your wbfs manager to add all your finished iso`s from wad2iso. I tried using wii backup manager, but
it crashes when adding forwarders for some reason. Thats it

but when starting it is saying "can't find loader.dol" for the wiiware, I transferred a game of my original MySims and that works fine.

    the drive is definatly FAT32..!!

    any idea?
Did you put the `nand games` folder in the root of your fat 32 partition?

I'm going to remove rev17 and go back to 20 now, so everything is as it was before this mess started. I don't know which settings I used when originally installing it though. I'm hoping all my games / instruments etc. still work. Bugger.
Have you tried usblosder gx? works great with ciosX rev 17. Also, try deleting all games from nand with showmiiwads, then re-extract them. This worked for me when all my wiiware stopped working. I used simple fs dumper to get my nand, it`s much easier. Check my other replies.

So the guide says to use wbfs manager to put the iso's on a wbfs partition. Can I just put them on a fat partition like my Wii games are? My whole drive is in fat 32. Would rather not have to copy everything over then repartition and put it all back. Thanks.

Yes you can. Use WiiGameManager or WiiBackupManager.

Thanks for your reply Krank. On second thought I think I may just access them from triiforce, as opposed to clogging up my usb loader. I think I'm gonna try triiforce, however, I read somewhere there was supposed to be a new method of loading wiiware/vc from usb? Something like "Mega Channels" or something? Would you recommend Triiforce or this other new method? Also, is there a limit to the number of wads you can install to an emulated nand? Thanks again.

Luigi in IRC tells me triiforce is fail?

Maybe someone will know a good solution for my dilemna...

Hi - kinda new around here, but I've paged through this thread and did not see a post that would answer my question in a way I would understand it, so here's the situation and the question...

I have followed the guide to a "T" and have the ISO's loaded successfully on my HDD.

However, my problem is I have rev 19 on my Homebrew.

I realize to stop getting the black screen, and to be able to load my WW/VC ISO's, I probably need to switch to rev 17. At least that is what I am getting after reading this entire thread.

But my question is this...will going to rev 17 cause me any issues with running anything else on my Homebrew Channel, namely other ISO's? Also, how would I go about getting rev 17 up and running...if I could be pointed in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

I am really good at following guides, but not so good at figuring it out myself.

    Thanks very much
