    Hi,

So I followed your guide and was able to change my wii to Europe however here ist he problem

Now the screen just scrolls down (consistantly) and is in black and white. I've read through the 8 pages already on here and don't see anyone having the same problem.

It looks the same as when I try to play a PAL game

Is there a way to switch my Wii back to USA or do I need to reset and lose the softmode I did?

Well that was fun.. ended up having to switch to a newer tv to actually see the options even though the Wii was still without color but it's back up and running..

Just a thought, I didn't see it here or anywhere for that matter but switching from NTSC to PAL isn't like making your dvd player multi region.. is that correct? Is there a Wii guide to PAL and NTSC and why the screen goes black and what it actually means

its your tv settings, your tv is tring to display it as ntsc and your wii is tring to display as pal so you need to play around with your tv settings

    Noob here!

I've got a 4.1u US region softmodded wii now, and obviously it is in NTSC. If I were to change the region to Europe would it be in Pal?

Talking about the system menu here, not games.

Thanks in advance, and great xmas to everyone!

    Boas pereira...
Yes, you can change the format of your wii, to pal...., but if you use any app for playing the backup games, that could have no influence, because you can force the game to play ntsc or pal...
For example, with the usb loader, or with wiiflow...

I do know that, thank you, but the problem is really the homebrew channel, for exemple. Before loading a game it is shown in NTSC, so its incorrect in the tv. All of the system menu is. That is why I was asking if changing the region to Europe would allow me to use it in PAL mode.

    So, is it?

    Thanks in advance!

yes it will, use the guide, in here, in first page, that mauifrog, post a very well done tutorial and i notice he already updated it, with some issues from some users regardinf the account in the shop channel, so go to the first post, and read it with very attention...

Now, i guess you will say you cant see what you are doing, in your tV, because of the format... i dont even know why you have that problem, because if you have any lcd from europe they all can show the image from an ntsc equipment..., at least the recents ones...

If the problem its the tv, try to set a vmware connection in your pc, search the forum... for that, or simply try another tv...

even if the tv is the wrong region it will be black and white and "choppy" but you should still be able to do this, i did ages ago with a older more awkward guide

No, strangely enough I can see everything with colours, but the image shown is somehow "cutted". Vertically I can only see the middle section of the image, the upper and lower part are "out" of the screen. I can only see 80-90% of the image.

But I'll try in another TV to see how it goes. Maybe its just that. But hey, I'm just beeing perfectionist, its working quite ok beside that.
