If so, I understand that this tutorial converts to 4.1u. In your "brick warning" tutorial, you warn that converted Korean Wiis should never be updated. Does this mean that I will be stuck on 4.1u forever?
Yes you can region change, and yes you would be stuck on 4.1 forever.

Wow! Really easy, thanks a lot mauifrog. I did this before, a couple of years ago on 3.2K and another Wii. It was much more complicated.

Only a few issues I'm running into now:

    1. Korean games won't load from disc channel, but work fine from Neogamma. I set region free in priiloader, so I'm not sure why it's not working.
    2. Shopping channel is asking me to update my Wii in order to use it. No chance of that...
    3. Mii Channel is still in Korean.

Also, I installed cIOS80-v6174.wad as per your instructions in your tutorial about not bricking my wii.

1- to load korean games from the disc channel you will need to patch ios60-v6174 with the korean key, and have all need korean ios installed which you should already have. You can patch ios60-v6174 with the korean key by using wiimod v3.1, patch with trucha, es-identify, nand, and korean key.
2- You only need to update the shop channel and the ios it uses, you can also to this with wiimod. However, if you already had a shop acount in the korean region, you would need to delete that account first.
3- You can install the Mii channel for your region, and delete the korean mii channel and any other korean channels. Use wiimod and go to the advanced menu, any title manager. The channels are under "system channels", delete all unwanted channels, it is safe to delete all if you like. Don't mess with "system titles", this is ios and system menu and you could brick the wii if you delete the wrong stuff in there, but "system channels" is safe to remove. You should be able to identify the kor channels by there title id, it has been awhile, but I believe they end in K.

Hi, did the "softmod any wii" guide on a JPN 001 LJH1 wii, then used this guide to change it to a USA console. Worked perfectly, thanks!
I just have one question, in the softmod guide i was told to make a Nand backup (CH 1 - Part 3). Now, should i keep that first Nand backup or it is completely useless and i have to make a new Nand backup because the region was changed?

    I LOVE YOU MAUIFROG!!!!!!!!!!!

    But yeah, anyway. :P

So I bought a copy of Harvest Moon: AWL (gamecube) off of Amazon; turned out it was NTSC. My wii is PAL, so I was pretty annoyed. -_-
I softmodded the Wii for the purpose of playing this one game (too cheap to fork out the money for another one, heh..). And now I can play it!
Woot! But since the disc was pretty old and starting to look fishy, I ripped the game (as an iso) to my sd card and backed it up onto my P.C.
I've tested the iso on Dolphin emulator, and it works. I've been looking around and have seen how it is possible to play GC backups off of a USB
HDD (I have a 80gb I've never used). I decided that would be awesome.

So my questions are: will this region change guide let me play the NTSC iso? Is it even necessary to change the region to do this(I have enabled the
region free GC games with preloader)?

AND THANK YOU AGAIN FOR BEING SO EPICLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should not need to region change to play any game. The preloader region free hack should allow you to load out of region disc. You should look into dios mios for gc backups from usb/sd. Or cmios and a gc loader to simply load a burned copy, and apply any needed patches. Not really sure of a good gc loader, but should be easy to find. Search from either a guide on dios mios to load from hdd/sd, or a guide on gc cmios loaders.

    error code: 205958 and 205625

    Hi.

I have a Wii 4.2J NTSC softmoded and i can play all the games i have inside my HDD but with "Just Dance 4" i tried to download some music but it's unable even with DLC hack installed.

So i decided to follow some steps wich i found around this thread but no luck.

I made the region changes with "ARC_mod06" to: English, USA, NTSC and installed System Menu 4.1U.
Installed and reinstalled Shop Channel also the Agreement was accepted.

But now i have the error code: 205958 when i try to access Wii Shop Channel and error code: 205625 when tried to access the Store inside Just Dance 4.

If i back to Japan settings i can access the Shop Channel normally but i never logged with user/pass there so i don't have any account registered.
I don't know what i need to do to make it works.

Anyone has any idea to help me?

    Regards.

The wii has a jap shop account which must be deleted prior to region changing.
