I'm a super noob with this. I have a Wii 4.0 and it has a NeoGamma and Homebrew Channel. I don't know much about it because it wasn't me who installed it there. One of my brother's friends did. Only now I'm trying to figure out how it works mainly because I can't play my Just Dance 2014. I've googled around and found that it needs to run on an IOS250 on NeoGamma. I downloaded the IOS Switcher and it was said to put in the apps folder of the SD card. When I put the SD card into my laptop, there was no apps folder so I created one there, is that okay? So I dragged the IOS Switcher folder into there but when I got into my Wii, after installing BootMii etc. on my Homebrew Channel because it told me to, the Homebrew Channel didn't show anything. There were just bubbles floating around. Help me!

Since you have no idea what has been done to it, it would probably be best to follow the Softmod ANY Wii guide in order to update your mod. The link is below in my sig. After that you will have everything needed to run all your new games. Also, with the version of neogamma that is installed in that guide, IOS switcher is no longer needed. It automatically detects what IOS to use.

Hiya! Thanks for helping btw but I got it working just before I got your reply. Now, I'm in a new dilemma. After making some tweeks, things went well for a while but for some reason I can't go into my NeoGamma at all now so I can't play any of the games. After clicking into NeoGamma, it just goes into a black screen and I tried to browse around my Wii Channel and I found that when I clicked my Wii Settings, a page popped up:

"You tried to access the address marc:FIX/US/ENG/index01.html, which is currently available. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page."

I checked through Google for this too and somehow this had to do with hacking and stuff and it can't be reversed. My NeoGamma is a NeoGamma r8 btw so I'm guessing that's why I had to install the IOS manually. Can I not do anything at all to reverse this? Hope this can resolved soon. Will be waiting for your reply!

Are you trying to launch Neogamma through a Wii Menu Channel? If so, the behavior you are describing is usually caused by the app not existing on the SD card. The channel is just a forwarder, not the actual program. So if it doesn't exist on SD, it won't work.

Do you see the app in HBC? If you do, then you likely have it installed under a wrong directory name under /apps/. If you don't, that's your problem. Install it.

The NeoGamma was not in the SD card to begin with. I think it was installed directly into the Wii. But okay, what do I do now? Should I follow the softmod any wii guide you gave me previously? Does that mean I have to format my SD and delete the Homebrew Channel on my Wii as well? Because it seems to not be in the SD card as well. Will things go back to normal by following the guidelines? I can even access the Wii Settings that way? Sorry for barging in with millions of questions. You've been a great help btw. ^_^

If your mod is current, all you need to do is install the App Pack in chapter 3.

If your mod is not current, it would be a good idea to update it, which will require formatting your SD card, so if there is data that you need saved, either back it up or find a different card to mod it with).

Uhm no, not at all. Should I do it from the top? I just read a bit of your guide and it says that since I don't know how the stuff in my Wii got installed, I should start from the very top.

http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-u-newbie...er-2012-a.html <- is where my original post is at....

    I really need help

    (original post)
    >>>>>>>>>>Hi forum!!!
Last christmas I bought a wii off e-bay installed with HB channel. at the time I didn't have any need to go on line til DTV became too expensive. I really need some help getting it up and going.....I have heard that if I go on line it will brick my wii (source: internet searching). I am a total novice when it comes to the wii/Homebrew channel stuff.
    System is 4.3u
    sd card 2GB, FAT

    Installed on home screen was:
    Wii game
    MII CHANNEL
    PHOTO CHANNEL 1.1
    Wii Shop channel
    Forcast channel
    News
    Wad MGR
    NeoGammaR9Beta 47
    CFG USBLoader
    HomeBrewChannel

    Screen 2:
    9 old nintendo-n64 games

    1) What are these on pg 1?
    2) Are they required?
    3) what do I do if wii wants to update?
    4) The 2gb card is blank & the wii seems to think it is full so I have to keep deleting saved games from the wii system in order to play non preprogramed games<what do I do?>
    5) If i want to search the web with the wii how do I find/install it?
6)once connected is there anything I need to know that will prevent bricking my system?
7)do I need to format the SD card for it to work??

    thanks for the help!!
