Hey Peire, Thanks for your speedy reply, its appreciated. Unfortunately i can not run the homebrew to
    ''Backup and Format your sd-card
    Extract MMM-58-61.zip to sd:\ -mirror
    Load the HomeBrew Channel
Launch Multi-Mod Manager -MMM will load''
etc.I have done this on my wii with MMM but as i put above,i cant run homebrew on my sons wii,it blackscreens and if i use Loadmii to try and install anything i lose sync with the controller. This is the problem, I have done mine in a few minutes but cant do his due to this. I have looked at threads for a few hours and believe one of the .dol may be corrupt from what i read but can just change that due to the mentioned problems. Any ideas ?

    hi
I would like to ask a question about the homebrew channel :
    1. Is it possible to install using usb drive rather than sd card in the HBC
    if it is possible, how?

sooooooo... Yeah.. the guide installs an optional patched 4.1 sm menu ( which is preferred). simple answer? Yes it is normal.
empty HBC w/out SD in.. that would be because all you hbc apps are on your sd card.. soooooo leave your sd in or learn to make channels. also normal.

    home brew channel ID

hi i have wiiflow and would like to have covers for all my channels.... at the moment homebrew channel is missing because it doesn't appear to have an ID.
I used "any title deleter" to find all the other ID's but homebrew is just (....) is there a way I can edit this or any other solution you can offer?

I have a question: is there any way to make emulators (FCE Ultra GX, SNES9X GX etc etc) run from a NTFS hard drive?

    Homebrew Channel - Mplayer Errors

I've seen people post about the same error on other forums and tried to search but bit diffucult to do with a crying baby. Anyway, Homebrew channel installed and USD Loader works. I can run games off of a HD. I downloaded WiiMC and Mplayer CE and put the folder in the apps folder on the SD Card. Turned on the Wii and tried to load the programs. I get random times where it would just guve me a fail screen reload in 8 seconds and just sits there until I hard reset the unit.
Finally got into MplayerCE and was able to browse to my external HD to play the movies but when playing back it's choppy and 1/4 of the screen is blurred out and unwatchable.
So I'm not sure why there are so many load fails and not too sure why mPlayer plays the files so poorly. (Mind you the files I am playing are 720p files I am used to playing off my Xbox, so maybe it's just the size and intensity of the files that make the Wii have a hard time playing them?)

If someone has already answered these two bits as I assume they have, can you point me in the right direction? Thanks so much.

I updated the Homebrew channel but am now getting an error message each time I try to run the USB loader (with a hard drive connected). The error message is "Not a Valid Wii application" each time I run my USB loader.

I was able to run games just fine before updating the Homebrew channel. Could someone please give me some advice on how to fix this? Thanks!

By the way, I had someone else mod my wii about a year ago, and it has been working just fine until I, stupidly, ran a homebrew update (I kept getting a prompt to update it, so I did). Thanks again!

Generally its not a bad idea to update the HBC or homebrew software. Unfortunately it appears updating the HBC to 1.1.0 breaks compatibility with some drives. Download Hackmii 1.0.8.zip and extract it directly to the apps folder on your SD card. Run it from the HBC and reinstall the Homebrew Channel. It will take you back to 1.0.8. You will still get the update prompt, but at least you will be back to a working config.
