1.0.8 works great for the majority
check this and get IOS58 installer to run it from hbc, afterwards you need to reinstall hbc 1.0.8
    definately, had it installed before.
When 1.0.8 went on the USB would not detect. So I installed IOS58 again.

couldn't find anything related to your problem, never heard of that (doesn't mean to much though)
are you using a genuine nintendo wiimote?
when you are already going to update something i would go for the softmod any wii guide by mauifrog, you'll get a full up to date ios and cios set.
normally previous installations does not interfer on resoftmodding, in your case you may want to delete hbc before starting over, as you are on 4.0 you can use bannerbomb to reinstall hbc and bootmiis latest version too
    (guide also linked below)

no other clue maybe someone else jumps in
    good luck from my side

    thats right Get WiiMC

    BUT
it may be possible that you have a newer chip on your dvd drive, making it impossible to play any dvd which is not an original wii or gc game.

    Identify your Wii
by putting in your wii serial No. (find it on the wiis back)
if you got a D4 or D3-v2 chip the above said is the case.
(all newer wiis from end 2008 on have those chips..)

again another noob question for the wiimc can i use an original dvd or they need to be copy because when i try an original it will say error no disc inserted i went to wiidrives.com it said There is a 75% chance the chipset is GC2-D2E and covered in black glue. And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D2E. and the only thing i found on the forums is that if its a d3-2 it wont work
    thank you

I believe that the undesired chipset would have been released in the Nov./Dec. of 2009, not 2008.

I have not been able to get a DVD to play with WiiMC either, but I can get a DVD to play with Mplayer CE. I think you may need the latest HBC installed for DVD support with WiiMC.

You need to install a forwader for it. Look at the bottom of this guide. There is a forwarder linked.
