    you can load apps from usb if you have hc installed already. If your trying to install it from usb... I don't know.[I hate telling people "no, you can't do this or that."]
    (loading apps from the usb is worse than doing it from sd but it still works. Just a little frustrating.)

    Have you tried any different SD Cards? SanDisk, Samsung etc

    Sounds like op wants to install hb by putting hackmii on a usb stick. Its not possible.

    You are corret saying you can load apps from usb hdd but only after the mod.

    To get apps to work in HB you dont need to but boot.dol on the root - normally apps come already prepped in their own folders ie sd://apps//homebrewbrowser/boot.dol,meta,icon.png

    The bit in bigger txt needs to be in the folder called homebrew browser and the homebrew browser folder should be placed in the apps folder

    I haven't a clue what I am doing, I have followed all instructions on this site and everything works fine hundreds of iso's all working (except Peppa Pig lol).
    But my question is this "every time I run the homebrew channel it asks me to update from 1.0.5 to 1.0.8" Is it safe for me to do this ie it won't brick mii wii.

    Should I do this update as all my games work off of my usb drive fine anyway, and if I don't have to do it can I stop the annoying message asking me to update??

    You can do it if you want you won't brick. Here are the changes:

    1.0.8

    * General USB improvements for all IOS versions, this fixes the regression introduced in version 1.0.7.
    * USB2 support through IOS58.

    1.0.7

    * New title id to circumvent its deletion by System Menu 4.3.
    * New look from our favorite pixel artist drmr.
    * Both views now show five rows of application entries.
    * On-NAND settings.
    * HBC now has the HW_AHBPROT flags set for direct hardware access, thus replacing DVDX.
    * Ability to not reload IOS when launching an application.
    * USB access is more stable, thanks to tueidj
    * Fixed the retry mechanism for the network initialization.
    * Fixed some rare hangs upon launch and exit (Hopefully all of them).
    * Notable speed improvement.
    * Now capable of custom themes granted all files are of the same dimensions.

    1.0.6

    * Freeze fix
    * Some other minor hiccups

    OK... i have a hard modded wii 3.3u I soft modded using the great Thread here for soft modding so i could play NSMB and it worked great. Now i am trying to update some ios's so i can play Metroid and Guitar hero 5. But now Homebrew channel does not find my wad manager or my sd card or something. I am not sure where to start. Do i Start the soft mod process over and see if that works? any help would be greatly appreciated !!

    Play the game create a save - Move the save over to your SD card (this will save the "save file" in the appropriate folder structure on your SD (within the Private folder).

    Navigate to the game save (data.bin) and replace it with the data.bin that you want to have as the save file on your Wii. SD in wii - Copy the save file back over to the Wii from SD.
    Damn I suck!!!!
