I have a Wii with 3.4E and a wiikey2 with a v14 wiiclip
I can get the twilight hack onto the wii and run it but it hangs saying failed to read boot.dol, now the boot.dol is there so any ideas on the no reading of it ?
also getting no code to load, hanging

Sorry, for asking this question.
If you set up the homebrew channel on the Wii, can you still buy retail disks from the store and play it on the Wii?

Of course you can. The Homebrew channel (HBC) just runs homebrew applications. You can get some apps that run backups, but you can still run normal games. There is no hacking that will disable you to run normal games unless you make a unlikely mistake.

I'm trying to play backed up games on my 3.4U Wii.
I have the Homebrew Channel installed, and now I'm just trying to, well, to be honest, I'm not sure what to do. I've seen some places where you have to put on the menu patcher and some places that do other things.

Hi, alright, we've played the games and used the apps but what would you recommend a "noob" developer to be reading and what apps are used to develop homebrew on Wii?

To develop games, use this:
DevkitPro - WiiBrew
Look at the tutorials and get familiar with it.

HB emulator problems
OK here's the deal.
I've got HB up and running and installed NES and SNES emulators, and HB Browser. They all start up just fine.
My SD isn't in the locked position. It's a 2 gig Sandisk. I have all the folders created such as 'roms' 'saves' etc. I have a few games in the roms folder for both programs (yes they are the correct formats etc). But when I try to load a game it gives me an error in fceu.
The error is "couldn't open fat://fceugx/roms Press A to continue" It then lets me browse folders and when I go into the actual roms folder within the program, it is empty.
I don't get the error in snes9x, but when i go into the roms folder within the program, again, it's empty.
obviously this makes it difficult for me to load games. Yes, i actually have roms in folders on the SD card. They also work just fine on my PC.
Is there something I don't know about naming the files? Anyone else had issues like this? Why can't the emulator programs see my games?
The emulators were downloaded through HB browser and I transferred the roms with FTPii. I even removed the SD card and checked with my computer to make sure everything was really there.
This is driving me nuts, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds to me like you just have your folders mixed up. I know when i followed the instructions it guided me to an incorrect folder configuration. Is your roms folder in the fceugx folder?
