I have a JPN 3.2 system. Should I install the Wii shop and IOS51? I noticed I've had issues running VC / Wiiware games, could this be because of that as I noticed a Megaman loading issue was due to the lack of the Wii shop and IOS51? I have AnyRegion as well, so not sure if I have to change settings on there to make sure that the VC / Wiiware games work as well?

Is it possible to convert a .dol into a .wad so programs such as Gecko can be loaded as a channel? Alternatively is there a Gecko WAD / channel already out there?

The shop update only makes the shop channel usable with a lower firmware. It doesn't do anything to the wads you install.

Megaman 9 has been having issues. To install it, follow these instructions: http://www.wiihacks.com/homebrew/632...gaman-9-a.html

So if I'm running 3.2 there's no advantage to installing the shop update or the IOS?

    Thanks for your help.

I d'l 1.3 from gba, and the only files that were there were the .dol and two readme files. How do I do the folder structure for this, and do I need to create the META.xml and icon.png?? I tried to just replace the .elf file from 1.1 with the 1.3 dol, but when I did that, nothing showed up in the homebrew browser. for the record, I have homebrew beta 9, wii version 3.1 or .2, and a wasabi chip.
I tried the meta.xml and icon.png, but I still don't have anything showing up in the homebrew channel for the wad manager. I need to have it in a folder in "apps", correct? does it matter what the name of the folder is?

I still can't get the homebrew browser to work. It still says that this is not a valid wii application. It is showing up on the homebrew and the description comes up when I click on. Do I need to convert the browser file from .elf to .dol? I do have Wii update 3.2 by the way.

I have a few questions. First, I updated to beta 9 of HBC via the channel through internet. Is it worth it for me to install that Update that Nintendo released, or should I just let it be and not worry about it. And if I do install the update will it kill my homebrew.

Also I read that beta 9 gives you SDHC support, so does that mean I can take my 4GB card now and put all the stuff on there and Homebrew will load off that or should I keep the 2GB load HBC and then swap it with a bigger one that has all the media files, etc on it.

    Thank you for your answers

Make sure you renamed the .dol file to boot.dol.

    1. DON'T UPDATE. If you do, you can't install wads and some other homebrew features don't work.

    2. Yes you can use an SDHC card with HBC 9. There are a few errors with it but they are fixing it and HBC 10 will be out soon. So stick with your 2gb untill everything is worked out.

If you have cIOS updating is ok, but it is pointless if you are going to install .wads, and run backups.

Here's a question. I've been using the Homebrew Channel and many homebrew applications for a while now. I just bought a second Wii Remote and synced it up to my Wii and it accepts it as 2nd player and everything fine for all official Wii games/applications/etc. But when I launch the Homebrew Channel it confuses the two of them and suddenly the 1st player Wii Remote is now the 2nd player Remote and vice versa. Any idea why this is happening and any chance I can solve it?
