    Yes, yes and yes.

Does this have anything to do with me installing d2x on top of ios 249?

d2x is just the latest revision of your cIOS. Have you tried using another loader, such as CFG or Wiilow?

cfg won't boot up :/. It hangs at the loading screen.

edit: nevermind, I can get in... lemme try this.

Okay, on CFG it's mentioning IOS35 next to the title when attempting to boot the game off of the HDD...

Ok I am ripping it to my HDD as we speak. If I am still up in abt 47 mins, I'll see if I have a similar issue with playing from HDD.

It seems to stop after hitting "IOS reload: Blocked".

edit: Nevermind, same result whether blocked or not...

edit: for CFG loader, is this right: IOS248 (r21006) Base: IOS37 d2x v6 mload v1.0?

I can get it to load fine from disc, using Neogamma with 249, no alt dol needed. I tried GX and had no luck. I'll try to see if I can figure something more out tomorrow as far as HDD loading.

Thanks, much appreciated. I've been trying with a bunch of other games on my HDD, like Kirby's Epic Yarn and Super Mario Galaxy 2, but those haven't been working either. I've been trying CFG loader instead, and it seems to give me more options as far as selections go. Still, no combination I use seems to work.

Try Wiiflow. I haven't been around for quite sometime, but CFG and Wiiflow were considered the most stable USB loaders before. I recently started using GX because of a couple newer games after updating my cIOS'

It is odd you are having trouble with the other 2 games mentioned. They should run fine assuming everything is up to date with your wii. There is an older guide for SMG2 also in this thread, although I never had to do anything special to play.

Posting a syscheck may be a good idea. If you are getting black screens it almost sounds like your cIOS didn't install properly. Did you use the online method and make sure it said "success" afterwards?

Even tho the dol loading method is outdated, as Krank stated, I am going to give it a shot placing it on HDD root and see if the game will load for me.

Ok I got it.....This is confirmed working with USB Loader GX V2.2/d2x v6 base 56(ios 249) on 4.2U

1)Start USB Loader GX and Load Metroid Prime Trilogy

2)In settings/game load set ios to 249, 002 error fix to yes, alt dol to list on game launch, save settings!!

3)Upon game launch rs5fe_p.dol is shown as the first dol in a list of 4. Select this dol. Metroid Prime Trilogy should load normally. I tested all 3 games. Metroid Prime, Echoes, and Corruption all confirmed working. I selected the rs5fe_p dol 5 times upon game launch and everytime the game loaded properly with no blackscreening or rebooting to SM. If you select any other dol for the individual games ( 1,2 or 3) it will boot back to SM or HBC depending on your settings.

I can only assume this method will work with Wiiflow or CFG. If anyone can confirm that would be great.

Okay, well, I guess posting a sys check wouldn't hurt. At least then you could figure out what I did wrong. Also, due to circumstances, I wasn't able to do the online d2x install, but rather the basic .wad file install using wad manager 1.7 and on just those few files. So... maybe I missed something along the way?

    *goes to try*

    Nope, still no luck.

edit: just ran the offline installer for the d2x cios, just to be sure I had that. Went to boot up MPT, and now it's giving me a black screen instead of rebooting to homebrew. And I did follow your instructions.

edit 2: Just checked most of the games on my HDD, and these are the only ones that don't work:

    - Ghostbusters
    - Kirby's Epic Yarn
    - Metal Slug Anthology
    - Metroid Prime Trilogy
    - Monster Hunter Tri
    - Muramasa: Demon Blade (used to work)
    - Okami
    - Super Mario Galaxy 2
    - Pokemon Battle Revolution

If you try usb loader gx 2.2 you need ios58 and I see you don't have that. That being said you must not have the latest version of gx. If you did usb loader itself wouldn't even it work.

So get the latest version of gx 2.2, and install ios58. Than try and tell us what's going on.
