wow you're quick. I just got the email that Netflix was in the shop channel today.

Anywho, I had to update my Shop Channel, used Krank's guide you linked to in the first post, worked great and the Netflix channel works great too. No more forwarder.

If I could thank your post twice, I would I'll just settle for thanking you here. Thanks!

Netflix are no longer shipping the disk so the first post should only include the instructions how to download Netflix from the shop channel .

So all the people who've had the disc ---- let's just no longer offer them support strictly because you say so? Rather near-sighted of you, don't you think?

The interface on the channel functions a lot better than what is on the disc. I would recommend people use the channel for that reason alone. On the other hand, wii memory is very limited for some people and installing a channel may be too much of a resource hog. I think the guide is exactly what it needs to be!

The disk version is obsolete and doesn't have search and other features and the only people that would need to rip the disk to HDD would be those who don't want to update their Wii shop channel .As Nintendo and Netflix push future updates that can be done dynamically I'm sure they will eventually discontinue support for the Disk .

Certain sites Like the Wii Hack Wii Wiki already offers download links to the Netflix Channel for backup purposes And Im sure it will be available via NUS soon so there is already an alternative for those who don't wish to update their Wii Shop Channel .

As for my eyesight its fine but maybe you need to get a check-up for your long vision

Your point is, essentially irrelevant --- Emuhack has edited his thread to accomodate people who now have that choice. So the folks who don't have internet or a router and wireless internet --- you'd prefer to "punsih" them by telling us we should drop disc-based support. Interesting; nice to know we're more kind and caring than you.

Gotta love those fans of other sites; they're the same ones who come to wiihacks looking to get themselves out of a jam with either a failed softmod or worse, a brick. Again, we support our own guides; users are free to choose. We do have to be careful somewhat with we direct link or offer. While Netflicks has expressed their opinion on the subject of libraries and so forth (not keen), they wish to avoid unflattering negative publicity/relations. You are quite correct there's alternatives, why don't you use them and let this go?

Sorry you prefer the short (ie "screw the user") game as opposed to the long version (best of both worlds/flexibility and support for either). Your views have been made known; unless you have something constructive to add, feel free to move on.

Users have to have an internet connection on their Wii to use the Netflix at all, whether it is a disc or a channel.

I am glad we don't have to pay extra for watching movies on the console. You have to have a gold membership on your Xbox, so unless you are into online gaming, it is very annoying.
