I have narrowed down the toolbar issue, but still haven't solved it completely. I copied over the stage folder to my son's pc(windows xp), downloaded Reggie and all is fine. I then copied that entire folder to my HDD. It will load normally from his pc, but when I load it on this pc(windows7), still no toolbar. It used to be there when I first ran the program, but now nothing. Anyone else having issues on windows7? I am guessing it must have something to do with the pc and not the program itself.
I just went back to the day I downloaded Reggie(system restore) when everything worked right. I cannot figure out how to apply the backgrounds though. I select a background and click on ok, but the background doesn't show up on the editing canvas.

The background won't appear until you load the custom level in-game. Kind of weird I agree.

Sorry I can't help more with your toolbar issue, I've only been using the mac version.

Thanks, I still don't know what happened in the first place to cause it, but the system restore to the 24 march did the trick.. It would be nice to know what happened so I could make sure not to do that again, but........ All is well that ends well, I guess, so far, anyway.

The red block is the level's self destruct button. Just kidding, I am pretty sure you mean the entrance. If this is the case you will need this for Mario to enter the level. You can find it by clicking on the "door" on the palette. I suggest clicking on help and reading it thoroughly before beginning to edit or create a level from scratch. Also editing a pre-existing level a few times to get familiar with Reggie before starting from scratch will help also.

Reggie takes about 3 days to learn completely. It helps to have a basic knowledge of game programing with basic math if/then statements.
Do a couple Google searches and pay attention here, and you'll be fine. I've messed with Reggie for about a week now, and completed 1 huge level. By far the most fun I've ever had playing this game. I don't understand why the developers didn't use some of the stuff I used. So fun. Maybe I'll find a way to upload at some point. The hardest part is play testing a ton and finding the glitches. By far my gave Mario level. I never thought this was possible a week ago.

I've been plaiying around for a couple days now and i am amazed at what can be done with this app. NSMB is about to evolve into something crazy. More and more people are starting to make custom levels.

Edit: Has anybpdy figured out what the movement ID and the Trigger ID numbers mean (what they do)? Ive been searching all over for an index or vague reference but can't seem to find any.

Check out the training level. It shows how to use a lot of the events. Trigger Event ID can let you line up a series of coins appearing in sequence or make a door appear when the last enemy in a room gets squished. I'm not sure on movement ID I haven't run across it yet.
