    NSMB when scrubbed takes only about .5gb or less of room. The point is if you're placing the games onto your HD via WBFS then the scrubbing has already taken place. This would be redundant to wii scrub, and result in a FAIL to accomplish anything.

    ok thanks now i know

    i always new wbfs made them a fraction of the 4.37gb

    but i thought that wii scrubber moght make them even smaller, i guess i always hear talk of the wii scrubber because some people burn disc

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    i have noticed something about how the wbfs auto scrub works
    i dont know why it does it maybe someone else knows why
    if you take a 4.37gb and auto scrub it ntsc to wbfs onto your wbfs formatted usb hard drive we all know it shinks it, lets say it shrinks to 1gb
    ok
    now if you take that same 1gb game that is on the wbfs formatted usb hard drive and copy it over (wbfs to wbfs) to another wbfs formatted hard drive it will shrink even more, like a iso that was 4.37 then 1gb will shrink even more to like 0.6
    not all games will shrink but a lot of them will
    of course not if it is already been scrubbed down wbfs to wbfs like this before
    One glitch I know to report- If you write an image to a WBFS hard drive- It may appear as NSMB. Could this be a virus?
    Scrub, replace files,... you're leaving stuff out here. If the alt.dol has is the same size, you don't have to scrub. and also it doesn't have to be the same name, wiiscrubber does that for you.
    my post about shrinking twice is not exactly correct
    i have tested over and over and the shrinking twice is just the fact that a game is smaller on a 2.5 pocket size hard drive
    the same game on a 3.5 book size hard drive is a little bigger
    so when i copied games from 3.5 to 2.5 it does shrink more but it is because wbfs manager for some reason compresses at different sizes for 2.5 and 3.5 hard drives
    so a pocket size 500gb hard drive is gonna hold more games than a 500gb book size hard drive
    just thought this would be useful information for somebody else
    Hey guys - when I open will scrubber and load my ISO you are supposed to see the name of the game and region top right and see the partitions with a + sign. The only thing I see is under Partition0 and Partition 1 is (BAD). This happens with all my ISO's. Im obviously a newb, but if someone could point me in the right direction it would be great. I did search through the thread but couldn't see anyone having the same issue. CHeers
    You are obviously doing something wrong. First of all what are you trying to accoplish? The only people who should use wiiscrubber are advanced programmers. Either adding or replacing files. Many times you can damage the image by opening it wrong, and have to throw the image away, so make sure you know what you're doing.
    As for extra compressing you can take the ISO and compress it with 7z or winrar to RAR format. But It takes twice as long to compress. and I think it ends up as the same size on your hard drive.
    Hi all,
    Great info, just started using WiiScrubber, good guide on extracting wads from images here, thanks!
    Too bad the following post remained unanswered though:
    When I Trim a game it goes down to about 1.1gb and then when I load it to my external usb HDD with WBFS the game seems to work fine.
    Is this ok or am I missing something? It would just save a lot of space on back up drive.
    Besides storing the ISOs on the wbfs fomatted usb drive (no working dvd drive in my wii anymore ), i archive them on another drive. On that drive i want the ISOs as small as possible of course. Both scrubbing and trimming do just that. Like Stockton, i also trimmed some ISOs and managed to play them just fine. And before i start trimming all the ISOs i have, i'm wondering if there is any catch. As stated, i have no working DVD drive, and will only be using the ISOs from a usb drive.
    I would like to add some constructive criticism
    The intro to this thread is neither clearn or informative.
    Quote from ShadowSonic2: "Useful for people who want to scrub their .iso..."
    You shouldn't describe what scrubbing is using the word scrubbing. I suggest to create an intro paragraph on What Wiiscrubber is and what is does. Here is an example taken from wikianswers.com; It clearly describes what Wiiscrubber is and what it does:
    "What is Wiiscrubber?
    Wii Scrubber is a pc program that removes unused data from a Wii ISO. Wii ISO's are all the same size (4.37 Gigabytes) but not all of the data stored in the ISO is usefull. Often the majority of the disk is filled with useless data added to make the disk up to the specified size. Wii scrubber replaces the uselless data with data that programs like WinRAR can compress into next to nothing. Some games like Wii Music are tiny (about 0.56 Gigabytes if I remember correctly.)
    So in short Wii Scrubber is a program to aid compression of Wii ISO file for archiving. "
    This way, you wouldn't have to be so strict in your rules and callous on tutorials. (Adding many big red font warnings is unecssary and annoying) Clear tutorials provides in less confusion to the masses, fewer questions asked and positive results.
    Why should he? If there's a question, you have just best-illustrated what we preach: if in doubt, search first; ask second. Thank you, even if not your intent.
