BTW: first post here so... hi everybody
Not really in terms of reducing the size of the ISO as the average IOS is <2mb.

But do remove IOS's from the update partition though.

Can you elaborate on this please, im new to burning backups and dont want to brick my wii by removing the wrong thing or wasting a disk however little the cost. In your example what ones would need to be removed?

As it appears you are burning to DVD discs, don't even worry about removing anything from the game ISO before burning. It is for USB HDD that WBFS Manager removes all the extraneous material that help blow a 0.34GB game up to the standard 4.37GB ISO image.

Rather than scrubbing your game ISO before burning and risking a bad burn, just burn as is. Any out-of-region games-use your backup loader settings to Force the disc to your region. Preloader can be set to disable the game update check.

Not really as it will be different for every game, why not download a scrubbed game2 already, then just burn it to disk or load onto a USB drive.

When I download a scrubbed version, it extracts to the 4+ gigs, then when put on a wbfs drive it is back to the same size that I downloaded it. I have tried scrubbing multiple games, and also recompressing the extracted isos using the best setting in winrar, yet cant get them back down to the original size.

    What am I missing here?

    Thanks!

When you download a scrubbed file then run WBFS to usb and load it from coverfloader or usbloader under HBC you are good to go. good luck.

uh...yeah...I got that already. Been running usbloader gx and wbfs for many months now. What I am asking is what compression settings are being used and with what prog to compress a scrubbed file at its best. I want to share some of my games but not at 4+ gigs.

I know how to use wiiscrubber. I just cant get it to compress as well as what it should. As stated I am using WINRAR, compression setting:BEST.

    What is the TRIM option?

I notice when I scrub a game, then compress it's down to around 3.7gb which is nice.

When I Trim a game it goes down to about 1.1gb and then when I load it to my external usb HDD with WBFS the game seems to work fine.

Is this ok or am I missing something? It would just save a lot of space on back up drive.
